Buy this insurance coverage!
This is my second year to purchase Embrace Pet Insurance. It is underwritten by USAA, that should tell you all you need to know as far as dependability, reliability, and trust. My cat, Harry, is a klutz. Not only is he a klutz he developed allergies and licked all of the fur off his underbelly. He scratched and licked incessantly. He was miserable which made me miserable. The wonderful thing about having pet insurance is you don't hesitate to get the proper care for your pet. It's peace of mind! When Harry looks like he's not feeling well or I suspect he's gotten into something I have no hesitation taking him to the doctor knowing full well that Embrace Pet Insurance will reimburse my claim. And the process couldn't be easier . Simply take a photograph of the bill, upload it to their claim website and you'll receive an email from them confirming they received it and are reviewing it, then you will get another email saying it's covered. They have never not covered a bill or claim in the two years I have been with them. You can select the percentage of coverage that fits best into your budget and you can also select to have Wellness care which covers yearly vaccinations, teeth cleanings, and office visits. Like I said, it is peace of mind knowing you can care for the animal that depends on you for its care.

My payments keep going up every year.
I'm still not sure why my payments keep going up every year. It's very frustrating and seems a bit greedy

Not satisfied with the +30% premium increase.
I'm still VERY not satisfied with the +30% premium increase. Very unreasonable increase.

My issue with the pre-approval process hasn't worked very smoothly at all.
This is the second pet I have had enrolled with Trupanion, and with each pet, the pre-approval process hasn't worked very smoothly at all. In fact, each time, the people I reached first by calling have not really seemed familiar with it. It's frustrating since it has been a very time-sensitive, life-threatening situation in each case. I would really like it if Trupanion could initiate getting some medical history at the time of enrollment instead of at the first claim to help expedite the process. I'm fortunate that I have had the resources available in each case to go ahead and get treatments started, but it is bothersome that the fact I had already initiated treatment seems to further complicate the process. My pet is already at the clinic in dire circumstances - am I supposed to have the pet discharged pending your collection of medical history and review of the treatment plan? It doesn't seem to make much sense from the client side, and it puts my pet's life at risk. Ultimately, coverage has been approved and is very helpful, but it has been very stressful at the outset when my mind is understandably focused only on helping my dog survive.
