Great insurance
My puppy is older and it was very hard finding insurance that wasn't hundreds of dollars. I found lemonade and it was everything I wanted. From yearly wellness coverage to a virtual vet to fast responses. I love them and will use them for any future pet I have.

They've been good to us overall
Overall, claims are easy to submit, payment is easy and it's a life saver when it covers what you need. Claim speed varies directly with the claim amount. The more the reimbursement is, the longer we've had to wait. Customer service is helpful and courteous, within the guidelines they have to follow. What is frustrating is that there isn't clear I dication of what will or will not be covered. There's no way to get preauthorization to know what will be covered in advance of treatment. It's a submit and hope for the best situation. It's worked out for us so far for the most part, but it is certainly stressful that its an unknown as far as what will happen with the claim. If they added the capability for preauthorization to know what the outcome will be ahead of treatment, my review would be 5 stars.

A Company That Genuinely Cares
Having used the insurance for two claims recently, I found that the processing was easy and fast. Every time I've called to confirm receipt of records or ask questions, I easily reached a friendly real person. Their website has been convenient for filing and confirming claim statuses, and they email updates, too. On top of that, they checked up on how my pet was doing after surgery giving me the impression that they genuinely cared.

Wonderful
For the second time in 3 years our boerboel tore her acl. First the back right now the back left. Aspca insurance paid the 90% of a very big bill in less than a week, no questions asked. They have been great and really helped with a very stressful situation. I would recommend 10 out of 10 times and I have to family and friends.

Review of Spot Pet Insurance
In your review of Spot Pet Insurance, you mention pre-existing conditions. We have had two claims disallowed due to definitions by Spot which have no clinical basis.
The first occurred following dental procedures on our Sheltie. Her mouth is too small for all teeth and some were extracted. Spot disallowed the claim because, during a previous exam the vet noted in the medical record that the dog had a grade one dental condition - meaning there was tartar on the teeth. Spot said grade 1 indicated "severe dental disease" and disallowed the claim. Grade one is on a scale of 1-4. Spot has failed to provide their scoring algorithms.
The second denial was again based on Spot's definition of a pre-existing condition. Thirty months ago, our Sheltie had an adverse reaction of the skin to a conditioner used following shampoo during grooming. Subsequently, we have instructed groomers not to use any conditioning products and there have been no issues. Earlier this month the same dog was treated for an ear infection. Spot disallowed the claim due to pre-existing conditions. Despite no entry in the medical record to support their decision, Spot determined that the ear infection was caused by the same "allergies" that caused the skin reaction thirty months ago. I believe this is a fraudulent way to avoid paying claims.
Please add this practice to the "Cons" of Spot Pet Insurance.

Couldn’t be easier
I recently took my puppy for one of the many puppy visits needed. Rather than being an annoyance it is such a wonderful experience. My vet, DrPalin, and staff are AMAZING. Vey let kind, efficient and trustworthy.
I was not looking forward to dealing with making a claim, but Lemonade made it quick and easy. Simple to claim, received my approval same day and funds sent same day.
Love the experience. Makes taking care of my puppy fun! Thank you!!!
