Buyer Beware!
We have been w/ Healthy Paws for 7 years, claim free. Monthly payment start at $33 per month. 7 years later $255. Same pet, same vet, same claim free history. As your pet ages, Healthy Paws will continue doubling your coverage, forcing you to drop coverage. Healthy Paws customer service says rates changed due to astronomical vet increases (our vet was 7%) and also blamed ourstates insurance regulators (we checked, they do not determine our increases), so it chalks up to a greedy insurance company and their profit margin. Buyer beware insuring older pets

Trupanion is totally worth the cost of peace of mind.
After paying out thousands for pet care we finally decided that pet insurance was the way to go. Our Chihuahua is 16 and in really good health but on Sunday I knew there was something seriously wrong. She couldn’t urinate. Never even had a urinary tract infection that we were aware of. Rushed her to the animal emergency hospital where they confirmed that she had stones blocking her bladder. Estimate for care and surgery $10,000-$13,000. I knew we had Trupanion and didn’t think twice about how we were going to afford treating her. We paid our deductible and Trupanion paid the rest directly to the animal hospital. Otherwise, we would have to had close to $10,000 that day to treat her. None of us think this would happen to us but I witnessed other pet parents trying to pay their bill with multiple credit cards and debit cards that day. We made a very wise decision to get pet insurance and to pick Trupanion.

Highly Recommend Healthy Paws
We definitely recommend HealthyPaws Pet Insurance. We used it for years with our Lab who eventually got cancer. HealthyPaws paid for all his surgeries and treatments at 80%, no questions asked. This plan does not include wellness coverage, but that's exactly what we wanted. After many emergencies/surgeries with our dogs, we realized insurance for emergencies and sickness was the way to go. We'll pay for wellness care, but HealthyPaws is there for the emergencies. We just had one! Our new 5-month old puppy ate a sock and needed emergency surgery. HealthyPaws covered everything (except exam) at 80% and the funds were deposited in my checking account the next day.

Healthy Paws Forever
If you need pet insurance and aren’t using Healthy Paws you need to immediately. We’ve been with them for 5 years and won’t ever change. Even when we get a new pup we’ll still use Healthy Paws. Affordable. Great customer service. Quickest claim and reimbursement I’ve ever had. We love Healthy Paws! They even checked in on our dog after surgery. Just the best!

Bait and switch: Reimbursement minimal, premiums inflating - seeking alternative care
Lemonades reimbursement limits have steadily declined in the few years I have had them, while premiums have been raised astronomically. I will be investigating alternative coverages with the intent to leave - due to premiums + out of pockets - minimal reimbursement, the annual cost of care is nearly double the amount I would pay for no coverage.

Met life pet insurance
Met life has held true to their word and has paid all appropriate claims. I got this when Mia was 8 weeks old. They have paid for all shots and her recent spaying. I totally recommend them. Very easy to submit claims online and quick response time.

Excellent response
Our pet just had surgery on his knee and, not only did HealthyPaws come through for us with the dollars, but they followed up to ensure he was doing ok. This is not the first claim with them and they have been supportive and responsive all the way. Thank you

Easy Peasy
Wasn’t to sure how filing a claim would work or how smoothly it would go until I filed my first claim. Easiest claim I ever filed and reimbursement expense transaction showed pending in my account just hours after being claimed was approved. Received in less than 24 hours

Thank you for being part of the Healthy Paws family since 2017. Premium increases are influenced by two primary factors, the increased age of your pet and the cost of veterinary care services reflected in claims paid in your specific state. Your premiums have gone up since total claim payments to pet parents, among other things, have increased faster than premiums paid by all pet parents in your state. As a result, the premiums for insurance for all pets in your state need to be increased so your insurer can continue to provide this type of insurance. Premiums are determined based on the rates and rating rules filed with, and approved by, each state’s insurance regulator, which reflect the cost of treatment advances in veterinary medicine, and characteristics of the individual pet, in addition to the overall claims experience for the program within the region where the pet resides. We include premium increase information within the "Frequently Asked Questions" page of our website.
