First Claim-What a breeze
I really dreaded making my first claim. Thought for sure it was going to be a painful process. Oh my gosh, finally someone made a simple, transparent website. Super easy! Just answer basic questions and scan your receipt. Done! Thank you.

My experience??? Exceptional!!!!!
Filed claims approximately 5 months after losing our beloved boy. Actually got back more than expected! Unfortunately when we rescued him, he was immediately diagnosed with a mast cell tumor, so I knew claims for those surgeries would not be covered. The claims paid were in my account within 3-4 days of me faxing them in!!!!! I was impressed to say the least!!! There was never a hold time when corresponding with your customer service reps and they were always understanding, comforting, sympathetic……just above and beyond!!!

Healthy Paws ignores ALL forms of customer contact
Do not use this company. I have been paying Healthy Paws for several months before sending (filling out online) a claim. Now that I have questions about a claim and services covered they have refused for several weeks to even acknowledge my attempts to contact them. I have called multiple times. They never pick up the phone. They promise to call you back but never do. They offer no chat recourse on their web site. They refuse to respond to messages left on their site messaging center. They refuse to provide an email address - presumably so customers will have no record of attempted contact. They refuse to respond to postal mail inquiries. In short, once they get your money you no longer exist to them. I now have had to cancel my credit card to prevent future automatic payments as I cannot even contact them to cancel my account. I now will have to update credit card info with numerous (legitimate) businesses. Advice: don't buy pet insurance until after you have received responses to at least phone calls and emails first.

Smooth sailing with the claim process
Trupanion staff helped me throughout the process - To ensure I did everything correctly, I was literally chatting with them on IM while my cat was being treated for urgent symptoms. Everything they confirmed on this chat was accurate and something I could easily follow going forward. In each step of the way, they were also making sure my cat was recovering which I thought was adorable. The claim process was easy and fast. I especially appreciated the updates via txt message. This made the process transparent to me and left no questions. Would recommend Trupanion for pet insurance!
