A Little Slow on Claims
I find that while the claims are easy to file, the communication regarding claim questions is not two way and they are just kicked back, unpaid, and then potential resubmittal. The time frame of the claim process is a long one, especially when you're waiting on a large reimbursement. I think 2 weeks would be more of a reasonable timeframe versus the month timeframe.

Pet insurance you can trust
This is the only pet insurance that pays you back % of your claim. However, the processing of claims is too long given that everything can be done electronically. I also didn't appreciate when renewal time rolled around, the premium had gone up $25 per month. Although they say its not based on the amount of claims you have, no other reason makes sense. My hope is that this won't become cost prohibitive as my 3yr old dog ages and I have to cancel the policy. I am happy with the service, just a couple of tweets are in order.

Great pet insurance, would recommend
I have had pet insurance on my cat, Sammy, since he was about 4 or 5 months old. I'm lucky I have had it, too, because he has had a ton of health issues I never would have expected from a mix breed shelter cat. He got the bad end of the genetic jackpot. He's got an auto-immunce digestive issue, that he needs constant medication for, he's had a tumor removed from his skin (at 1 year old), and he's now had a double femoral head osteotomy due to factures in the heads of both femurs. That last one I never could have afforded if I didn't have insurance to cover 80%. I've never had any issues filing a claim, and they've always been great about living up to their side fo the deal, and processing the claim quickly and efficiently. Only one time was there a hold up, and I was able to call in and get it resolved ASAP, with a nice customer service rep. I've been very pleased.

VPI Nationwide is on your pet's side!
People still cannot believe I have insurance on my dogs. In this case Layla (who is 10) has a history of a corneal ulcer of her left eye. Thank God for this pet insurance...reimbursement on this claim helped. Layla has scarring from the corneal ulcer along with dry eye. We are managing that well with artificial tears. And if she ever has anymore eye issues or an illness I am rest assured that she will be taken care of because I lived and cared enough to provide her coverage thru pet insurance.

Not worth it.
Nationwide kept saying I only had a $50 deductable for my dog and her cancer treatments. Don't believe them EVER! They just paid whatever they felt like and I was not reimbursed properly. I tried to call and complain, yet they didn't seem to understand anything. They didn't seem to understand a tumor and cancer are the same thing. It didn't seem to matter to them that we are trying to save my son's service dog. They just want to deny claims instead. So frustrated!

Very easy.
Very easy. Vets office submitted the claim and it was approved in minutes. I then received a claim EOB by email with details.

Claim process to be faster
As a customer who has been with you a year now, it is frustrating on how long it takes for a claim to be processed as well for ways to submit a claim. I don't have access to printer at home. It would be easier if claims could be submitted through an application on smart phones. Also 30 days for a claim to be processed and the reimbursement to be done is ridiculous. I have two dogs and submitted claims on the same day for both of them. One claim for each took 30 days, while a second claim within a month took less than 24 hours for one and one is still pending for the other.
I would highly recommend going to a system that is like for most humans. Instead of making more work for your customers and have them submit claims. Go to the way where your customers only pay their portion at the visit. It would make things a little easier for the customers, and I would imagine there would be more people who would sign up and stay with you as a company if that is a perk.
