I won’t be without it with any pets
I always send in all paperwork vet gives me. The receipt with everything itemized. The vets office really doesn’t give you a diagnosis sheet. When I submit everything I am given I always get rejected and the reason is no diagnosis. I contact the vet and they say everything is on the paperwork. I have to usually file at least twice to get approved

It's nice to not worry about going to the vet.
Our dog, Layla, is a good, overall healthy pup, but she has had some random setbacks that have caused us to see some pretty hefty vet bills in the first few months of her life. First a UTI that she had trouble shaking, and then a tooth that grew in funny (so funny, in fact, that the vet had never seen anything like it). After that bill, I decided to ask my HR about the pet insurance they provided through Nationwide. It has been a wonderful experience ever since. We take her to get her heartworm medicine and flea medicine, and anytime something comes up (like an especially gunk filled eye), we don't worry about taking her because we know that just about everything is covered. The deductible was not hard to get to, because as I said, Layla isn't an ill dog, she's just got some random weird incidents that have caused us to raise an eyebrow at our vet bills, and while you do have to pay out of pocket at the vet, it's very easy to send in a claim right away and they reimburse you in about a month. My only complaint would be that when I filed my first claim or two, I had some trouble finding the claims paperwork to fill out. But now that I've done it a few times, it's fairly simple. I've never experienced any kind of problem where they didn't want to pay, and everything is always straightforward. Overall, I would definitely recommend it, especially if you find yourself going to the vet for the most random things. They do restrict on some things, like if they decide your dog has a pre-existing condition, they won't cover things under that. But if your dog is healthy for an extended period of time and doesn't have any incidents with what they've decided is pre-existing, I believe you can provide them with your dog's medical records again and ask for the pre-existing condition to be removed. We will be doing that sometime soon (the UTI got marked as a pre-existing condition for bladder problems) and I will know for sure. But for the past six months, it has been very nice not worrying about going to the vet.

Timely response and easy to use application.
When we got our puppy we wanted to ensure that if something did happen the cost would not be a factor in the treatment process. ASPCA has been wonderful to work with and the process is easy and payments are timely.

Awesome service and resource to have
Never thought to ever have insurance for my pup until our visit to the vet. Nationwide makes it simple to submit our claims for Phoebe's visit.

Attention to Details
Initially, the claim was denied for not being in force at the time of treatment. Since my premiums are automatically deducted, this was surprising given I was in the middle of my term. After reading through, I found the reviewer had input the date of service as 01/08/18 instead of 19. I submitted on 01/10/19. Logically speaking, it seems odd a reviewer wouldn't find it odd that I was submitting one year and two days after treatment. When I called to have this reviewed, the rep was very blase about the situation and said people make mistakes. I agree and that's fine, but the reviewer has a few basic items to check during their review and this was basic. It resulted in wasting my time on hold for about 15 mins, the rep having to answer, the supervisor with whom I had to speak about why this was an issue after the rep show a lack if understanding. A two second typo resulted in wasted time. Attention to detail is key.

This insurance has been such a blessing for our family!
We love Nationwide pet insurance. It has been a great investment, and such a blessing. Our fur baby has been able to receive the care he needs without us stressing over the cost of each visit.

So glad I bought this pet insurance!
I’m so glad that I bought this coverage for my fur baby, Porter. Frenchies come with all sorts of potential breed-specific medical problems, and without this pet insurance, I might not be able to pay for the health care and emergency care my little one might need.
Usually, I’m sent the reimbursement on my claims in 2-4 weeks. The whole claims process is easy too. Best coverage for the price and well worth it.

Not 30 days of free trial-very misleading-no communication on rejected claim.
Thought we had pet insurance based on AKC registration website information. Had a claim for ER Vet the day after registering for the trial offer. Waited two weeks with no call or emails on claim status. Finally went online to do Live Chat (is not active). Called and waited for a representative for almost 7 minutes to find out we were not covered for the claim. They have a declaration of a 5 day waiting period and our claim was on day 2.
They should advertise 25 days of pet insurance, not 30. This was an ER visit for eating raw chicken wings, I was not signing up because we had a sick dog and were working the system.
This makes AKC look bad in my opinion. Very misleading.
