Great Customer Service and Easy Filing

Our dog is a complete lemon - a wonderful, cuddly lemon, but a lemon all the same. When she was a puppy we realized that health issues would be Charlie's constant companion and, after her irritable bowel disease diagnosis, we started shopping for pet insurance. Many of the companies that our vet recommended (including pet insurance giant VPI) refused to take her saying that her IBD was a preexisting condition and they would not take the risk. Pets Best not only took the risk, but has been incredible to deal with over the years. And deal with us they have! If health issues were dollar bills, I'd be a very wealthy person - urinary incontinence, Vitiligo, chronic ear infections and even a torn ACL that required surgery - Pets Best has been with us every step of the way. They've treated us fairly as far as reimbursement is concerned and their customer service is outstanding! Not only is their portal easy to use, but their phone reps are the nicest customer service reps I have ever dealt with. They will literally help you with ANYTHING to do with your policy - I have never once been told it wasn't their job and they have often had to go above and beyond to assist me with complex questions regarding my dog and her health. These guys really know their stuff and are more than willing to help you along the way. Yes - there are restrictions on what they will pay for (as with ALL insurance companies!), but if you read the contract before you buy you'll know whether or no

Healthy Paws Rocks ! ! !

We are huge fans of Healthy Paws, and have sent a number of dog owner friends their way - and now they love Healthy Paws too :) Healthy Paws has GREAT coverage, reasonable premiums, perfect communications, very responsive, and no hassles claims process. They give us a tremendous peace-of-mind knowing our little guy Chewie will get the best possible care without worrying about the vet bill.

Makes the difference between pursuing medical care

Dogs, especially puppies love to chew. Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter what it is. Two weeks ago I came home to find my $10 sunglasses on the floor. All that remained of the sunglasses was the wire eye frame and a ¼ of one side. Everything else was gone. After franticly searching the house looking for any of the missing parts I came to the conclusion that the parts (glass and all) were inside one of my two dogs. So, off to the vet we went. Both my Weimaraner (Emma) and Schnauzer-terrier mix (Molly) were x-rayed. I was surprised to find that it was Molly, and not the Weimaraner that had eaten the glasses. Some parts passed naturally (to include some small glass shards); however, some of the metal bits wouldn’t leave her stomach. After 48 hours of watching and x-raying Molly to see if the metal bits were moving through the body, it was determined that they were not moving. So it was decided to attempt to retrieve the metal and glass bits endoscopically. The vet informed me that some pet insurance companies do not cover "accidental" ingestions. That made me a bit nervous. When I called Healthy Paws to let them know what happened and to see if I was covered, the Healthy Paws representative asked “Is Molly doing Okay now?” I really got the sense that first and foremost; she was genuinely interested in how Molly was feeling. When I asked if I was covered she said "Absolutely". The endoscope couldn’t retrieve the 75+ glass bits, screws and small metal parts.

Very happy with insurance

Our dog, Bailey, was vomiting and hardly eating anything. The vet performed many tests, did xrays and untrasounds, then finally exploratory surgery. It was determined that Bailey has Inflammatory Bowel Disease; she's fine now as long as we feed her the most expensive dog food in the store! Anyway, this was a very expensive experience and our claim was for over $3000. The representatives on the phone were knowledgeable and helpful. Our claim was received and processed promptly without any complications. Overall, it was a very easy, professional process and we are very happy with this insurance.

I am so grateful I chose Healthy Paws!

I adopted a stray dog who appeared healthy. Within two months of signing up with Healthy Paw, a rare bone anomaly was discovered. After my deductible, Healthy Paws reimbursed my bills at 90%, saving me over $1500. Within this same year my dog was found to have bladder stones. Another surgery later, Healthy Paws came through yet again, reimbursing all vet bills at 90%. Honestly, if I didn't have their insurance, I would be so deep in debt I wouldn’t know what to do. Their reps are helpful, caring, and super prompt with payment. I've recommended their service to my vet's office and will do so to anyone who asks.

TRULY IS "THE BEST"

I decided to get Pet's Best based on reviews of the company. However, I decided I would save it for a TRUE emergency, choosing to pay for all other vet visits on my own for my two Bichons & 1 maltese. My middle Bichon recently did have a TRUE emergency and could have died. But the ER vets in Buffalo Grove saved him, diagnosed him, got him on the right track and Pets Best covered the majority of the bill, which helped me keep money in the bank for the additional costs now that he's a diabetic and would need regulating. I'm happy to report he's now my little "diabetic on the go" and thanks to Pets Best - I'll always have peace of mind during a TRUE emergency! They are worth EVERY penny I pay them quarterly! HUMAN insurance companies could learn a thing or two from this company!

EXCELLANT!

I would highly recommend Trupanion! Bottom line we were very lucky that we decided to go with pet insurance on our new pups. In less than 7 months we have had to use it twice for our older pup, Bosco who will be only 1 year old this week. The first time was to have two puppy teeth pulled when they refuse to come out! The second and more significant was to have a growth removed on his umbilical hernia. (Later diagnosis as calcinosis circumscripta). Then Bosco developed an infection at the surgical site which added to the over cost of this procedure between having the infection cultured and then the antibiotics. I opted to secure “pre-approval” for each surgery. That helped with the claim process. Both times, the claims where processed quickly and if Trupanion had any questions they kept me informed and were easily available and quick to respond if I had questions! I am very pleased and fortunate to have Trupanion! Believe it or not calcinosis circumstripta is a condition that can come back and future growths may need to be surgically removed! We have the peace of mind to know Bosco is covered!

lies lies lies

we have a golden doodle who is 8 yrs old. she has been in excellent health and we have a new great dane puppy coming home in a week. took lola (golden doodle) to the vet for her annual checkup and everything was great. decided we would get insurance for her. signed up with embrace, was asked to have vet complete the orthopedic form and that way she would be covered 30 days later for anything ortho. done. we got the insurance the day after her exam thinking that way they would know she was in good health, this was 3 weeks ago. called today to add the new puppy and found out that now they wont cover any orthopedic for lola for 6 months since we had the checkup done the "day before" we signed up for insurance. she has NEVER and i repeat NEVER had any ortho or medical problems at all. was told that if it was 2 days before things would be fine... huh??asked more questions.. people apparently didnt know what they were talking about with any other conditions and getting confirmation if they would even cover an ear infection etc. they offered NOTHING. so i cancelled the policy. i certainly didnt get any good vibes from them. i suggest you ask TONS of "what if" questions before signing.
