We have two cocker spaniels, Molly and Macy, they are now three years old and the light of our lives. My purpose in writing is to pass along our story in hopes of informing other pet parents of the benefits of having pet insurance. What I should say is the benefits of having top-rate pet insurance. Having loved a chronically ill pet in the past led me to research the many companies who are now offering pet insurance. Believe me, I lit up the internet with searches, questions and policy comparisons. My investigatory work led me to the elimination of many companies and it directed me to Trupanion. That was three years ago and I have not regretted my decision for one moment. Not only have the Trupanion folks supported me monetarily in the care of the girls but they have also given me emotional support with the security of knowing that they do what they say they will do. One of the things that attracted me to Trupanion was their easy to read policy, no gray areas. You know up front what you are getting from Trupanion, their policy guidelines are clear. Another thing that impressed me was Trupanion's customer service, just as their policy, they do what they say they will do and they are so darned nice about it. Their customer service folks are friendly and very knowledgeable and they were actually the clincher for me when I was making my decision regarding which company to go with. Our dog recently came down with a scary case giardia which required imaging and laboratory studies, fluid replacement and two types of oral medications. With a bill approaching $700 we were delighted at how quickly our claim was processed and paid. They even sent us an email asking how out pup was doing! If only my own health insurance was this good....

After several very pricey vet visits with my chihuahua pup, I decided to take out an Embrace policy upon recommendation from a friend. I did a lot of research on the various policies, and ended up going with Embrace because it was BY FAR the best price for coverage of breed-specific conditions. I was shocked that I could pay a premium at other pet insurance companies, yet if my Chi is ever struck with a collapsed trachea, eye infection, or luxating patella, it wasn't covered unless I paid $20 more a month! With Embrace EVERYTHING is covered, and the wellness policy is very reasonable! Great customer service, fast and personal responses from everyone at Embrace, and my first claim was processed in less than a week. Couldn't be happier with my choice!

My dog had a severe yeast time infection that she incurred over the course of the summer probably triggered in retrospect by allergies that were at the time unknown to us. We went to our vet numerous times, but she could not figure it out. We went to the only dermatologist for animals in Northern VA - he was great but the bills especially for treatments and meds were not low. My pet at the time was extremely ill - listless, not eating, scrating 24X7. My dog recovered on the vet's regimen and Healthy Paws was supportive at all times both finacially and by constant messages and feedback regarding her condition. I am a medical professional (nurse) and I have told everyone (my friends and hospital associates) about their concern and response. I have had pet insurance with another company in the past and Embrace has proven to truly be an efficient and reliable company for coverage and personalized customer service, i.e, they call to check on my pets when they have been sick, when I send them a photo of my pets they acknowledge it and are very complimentary and interested in them. Their personnel are readily available, courteous, speak and understand English and processing of claims is timely and efficient. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing pet coverage.

We returned home from a short grocery trip to find grape stems all over our kitchen floor. Jackson, our 90lb Boxer, had made his way into the trashcan and devoured about 1lb of old red grapes we had just thrown out. He was not yet showing any signs of intoxication but we knew they could be lethal from a quick google search, and call to our vet. Of course it was 8PM on Sunday evening, so off to the emergency vet we went. We were required to leave Jackson overnight while he stayed on IV fluids to flush his system - this also required a cardiologist exam and echo to re-check that his heart could handle the fluid intake (prior heart murmur present). We knew this wouldn't be a cheap visit (the echo itself is $500!), but we had peace of mind knowing we wouldn't have to base any medical decisions on our fear of the bill thanks to our Embrace plan. After induction of vomiting, activated charcoal, and 24 hours on continuous IV fluids, we were released to our regular vet for monitoring. Jackson's kidneys proved normal over the course of the next week, and he has fully recovered. Our claim with Embrace was processed very quickly, especially for the amount of the bills submitted. We have been Embrace members since Jackson was a pup, and feel it's one of the best investments we can make.

I submitted two claims and was reimbursed in less than a month. The process was easy as I simply faxed my invoices to them and they sent me a check.

We had a $3000 experience when our beautiful 2 year old goldendoodle apparently ingested some goose poop. She started getting sick and by the 5th time there was an unbelievable amount of blood...we knew this was serious and were wondering how much it would all cost. After a few days in the vet emergency clinic and almost $3000 later....we are so thankful that we invested in healthy Paws pet insurance. The customer service is top notch and they processed and sent out claims literally the same week!!! We can't sing their praises enough!!
