rate keep going up
I've been a client for many years and the rate just keep increasing. It's not really worth it at this point. The worst part is that they do not cover tooth extraction from cavities, which will cost you about $2000+. Stay away and look for a company that do provide dental coverage

Great Coverage
I love MetLife's Pet Insurance! They are always super helpful when I have questions or concerns about my policy. The app is pretty easy to navigate, and sumbitting claims on the app is pretty easy too!

So Easy
I am amazed at how easy and convenient Trupanion is. Best investment I've made for my pups and their health.
Now, if only my health insurance was this easy.

Short term gains. Long term pain
First 5 years were awesome! Then premiums go up. And then they go up again. Suddenly the years of payments with little claims mean nothing. It does not make financial sense to pay the increased premiums and deductible. Shame on you for taking advantage of the fine print.

Useless
Claims process is too much of a hassle. We provided the paperwork multiple times. They rejected claim for something unrelated to what was requested. My wife spent hours on the phone with them explaining the circumstance. Find another provider, they are simply not worth the effort or consideration.

Great coverage and prompt reimbursement!
We have been clients of Healthy Paws insurance for many years - with policies for our cats and our dogs. I initially purchased the policies as a safeguard in case of serious injury - mostly because of our young, active dogs! We really didn’t submit our first claim until our animals were more advanced in age but, even so, it has been very worthwhile. Our elderly cats had some end of life care that was supported and now our aging dogs are also benefiting from our coverage. For one of our dogs, in particular, we had to seek diagnosis and treatment from a neurologist and we have ongoing therapies that must be carried out for the rest of his life. I have been so impressed by the extent of what our policy covers and by the prompt reimbursement we have received. Our policy has allowed us to provide our pets with quality care that has led to improved quality of life for them. Customer service has also been stellar. I’m very satisfied with our experience with this company.

Just don't do it
Worst insurance company ever! I wouldn't trust them to care for a stuffed toy let alone a living creature. As a vet tech of 14 years I've seen a lot, and my worst mistake ever was insuring my own pets with them. If they're not ghosting you or constantly requesting records they've recieved 4 times already (so they can extend the length of time before payment) they are hiding serious clauses in the small print that you don't get until after you sign up. They will do everything they can to find the smallest detail in wording so they don't have to pay for your pets accident and then play it off like it's no big deal. After months of fighting with them when the only one who would speak to me was our clinics representative, they had the nerve to call and request records AGAIN and specifically told the clinic I work at that they WOULD NOT talk to me about it under any circumstances. Do yourself a favor and find a different company.

Good and Not So Good
I’ve had a good experience, but not so good. One of my cats became ill, and the claim was denied because they went back to a time when she was a kitten when she was recovering from Pneumonia where she had some vomiting. They denied her claim when I took her in for vomiting only. So if your cat or kitten I ever had vomiting when it was connected to a completely different illness, they’ll deny any claim in the future for any case of vomiting at all, calling it pre-existing.

Great service and timely response to claim
We submitted claim for emergency care costs we incurred for our cat. We received reimbursement to the maximum our policy stated. The cause of our claim does have limitations - the claim payment included clear information on what would be provided in respect of future claims and any limitation that would apply. I find this aspect of customer service is very appreciated as we can make informed decisions going forward. Very good customer service overall and the claims process was very easy and we received our reimbursement quickly.

We realize no one likes any form of premium increase. We understand your concern and would be happy to review your account and discuss your premium increase with you in greater detail. If you have not done so already, please call us at (855) 898-8991 and we will gladly answer any questions you have regarding the factors that go into your premium increases. Our complete accident and illness plan covers injury to the teeth if it is caused by an accident, including extractions and reconstruction of damaged teeth. Like some other pet insurance companies, our plan does not cover the regular dental care required to maintain dental hygiene for the pet. By making routine dental cleaning part of the pet parent's financial responsibility, it allows us to offer a complete accident and illness plan
