If you have a pet, insurance is important.
Bailey is a rescue dog that I have had for three years. Recently he started vomiting every night for 9 days - even after getting meds from the vet. Thought all was well but had a bad episode on July 4th and took him to the emergency clinic. I submitted all of Bailey's bills for this illness. The response was fast and I am appreciative of the procedures covered. I am glad that I have ASPCA Pet Insurance for my Bales. I don't have to hesitate about giving him the care he needs. The personal calls received after each claim to check on Bailey is an added plus. Thank you!

Thank you, ASPCA pet insurance !
We insured our newly adopted puppy at my mom's suggestion- just in case! Turns out, our little darling in a rock eater. This is a very expensive proposition. Thank goodness we have had her two surgical claims paid by this insurance. They are very nice and call to check on her after her surgery, too.

Best investment we ever made
We have a high-deductible plan for our two dachshunds; we did not opt for wellness coverage or Rx coverage. It was only purchased to be a cushion for a major/catastrophic event. When one them had a sudden disc herniation that required immediate diagnostic (MRI) and treatment (surgery), we were beyond shocked and overwhelmed--he's barely 4 years old, very athletic and lean; we knew disc issues were common with dachshunds, but given his stature, we never expected a back issue for him. At any rate, it was certainly a nightmare scenario, and it required immediate decisions involving quite a bit of cost to us monetarily and risk as well, considering the surgery wasn't guaranteed to get him walking again. It's too early to tell whether he'll regain function in his back legs, although his neurologist feels certain he will, but one thing's certain: if not for Embrace, he wouldn't have gotten the surgery he needed. The MRI estimate was $2k, the surgery estimate was $4500, and that didn't include the initial consult, ER fee, etc. We needed to know, pretty much immediately, what Embrace would cover, if anything. Embrace was able to expedite our pre-certification forms for the procedures, so we knew same-day what was covered and what our responsibility would be. If we'd had to decide whether to move forward without first knowing what Embrace would reimburse, we would't have been financially able to. We are so incredibly thankful for the kindness and empathy all Embrace staff members used

Wish They Would Cover Me!
Have been using Embrace for about 8 years and they never disappoint. If my insurance covered me like Embrace covers my furry friends - I would be rich! I cannot say enough about these folks - they are always there. When one of my friends crosses the bridge, I get a beautiful card signed by the staff. I often get personal emails checking up on one of them. You cannot get this kind of service and caring from a mega-company listed on the stock exchange.

Excellent Customer Service
Filing a claim is so easy and claim processing is prompt and efficient. I've recommended ASPCA to co-workers as well. It was so nice to receive follow up calls regarding my 2 feline children Abigail and Mia. Customer service conveys true concern and compassion.

It's all the little things that add up.
Speaking from experience, do not purchase pet insurance just for coverage of a major accidents. This was the original reason we took out pet insurance for our dog. It has turnied out to be one of the best decisions we ever made due to the fact that our dog has had so many minor problems that have worsened to major ones. It started out with an infection of his paw and escalated into an infection throughout his whole body. Our insurance with ASPCA has been with us through it all and continues to support us with its financial support of getting our dog well. It will definitely be the insurance we purchace in the years to come. Thank you! Bob and Julie Birch

Thank goodness for Embrace!
After researching many pet insurance companies, I bought an Embrace policy on our two-year-old golden retriever last September. She was wild and crazy, and I could imagine a torn ACL or similar injury brought about by her running, leaping, and wrestling with her friends. Little did I know then that, within just a few months, those play dates would start leaving her in pain and barely able to walk afterward. A referral to a neurologist and many expensive tests later, an MRI uncovered abnormalities in her spine that were causing pain and stiffness, and that would cause irreparable damage had we not modified her lifestyle.
I can't say enough about how impressed I am with Embrace. Our policy has paid 80% of all covered treatments and tests including the expensive MRI, and, in every case, I've received our check in less than two weeks. What a good feeling it is not to have that nagging worry about how much it's going to cost to give our girl the veterinary care she needs!

Pleased with the insurance!
I have two kitties insured through ASPCA pet insurance and I could not be happier. We have had to make three claims for one of our cats and each time ASPCA has made the process efficient and easy. We have always received a sizable return for our expenses and the claims are always followed by a check-up call from an ASPCA agent, to make sure he is doing better and to ensure we are satisfied with their service. I always recommend to my pet parent friends that they get ASPCA pet insurance because it has been a huge financial lifesaver in emergency situations. As our cats age, I have no doubts we will up our insurance to a higher level with more coverage, just because ASPCA has been so wonderful. Their customer service team is always polite and I love hearing a dog bark in the background while I'm on the phone with them - you are working with animal lovers when you're working with ASPCA!

Incredibly disappointed
Just recently bought our dog and was told that we had a 60 day free trial of their insurance. Thinking it would be a great deal I tried it out and felt thankful when my dog got sick and had treatment.
Trouble began immediately! Maybe it was because I was on a trial basis, but I hear nothing from them for several weeks in regards to my claim. I called them once and was told they'd have a response later next month! The second time I called I was told they received my claim almost 20 days AFTER I had sent it.
When I finally got a reply it was to tell me that no invoice was included with my claim, even though I was with my vet and watched her attach all important documents and fax them with me in her office and I feel that telling us this was a slap to my vet's practice. After complaining, I'm later told that because we had just signed up they wouldn't help with our claim because it was within the first 30 days we signed up.
What's the point of telling us we had a 60 day trial if we can't even use 30 of it.
Will be looking for another pet insurance. Very disappointed.

Great customer service
I was very pleased with my first claim experience with Trupanion. I bought the policy in January and had a $1400+ bill in May for papilloma virus. The claim was processed quickly, and payment arrived quickly too. The adjuster initially interpreted the invoice/medical records to reflect two conditions and thus applied two deductibles. I called and was told to have my vet email the appeals department to clarify that only one condition was diagnosed. The appeal process took a little longer than the initial claims process, but less time than was advertised. Trupanion incorporated the new information and reimbursed me for the second deductible. My vet's note also included a new, younger estimate of my dog's age, which Trupanion changed for me, which lowered my monthly premium. As a health care provider, I appreciate that Trupanion trusted my vet's judgment and treatment without question. All in all, it was an excellent experience and money well spent.
