I am paying premiums for nothing!
I have been with trupanion for a year and am very disappointed. I submitted a claim for a laceration on my cat's leg, they delayed payment for weeks by asking for the same information that had been submitted previously. Then they denied sedation coverage because the cat "demonstrated behavioral issues prior to the policy inception"...really?? that is absurd! I am canceling my coverage.

Denied Claim
We have had a very upsetting week. It started when our beloved chocolate lab, Riggs got sick. It ended with a denied claim for more then $2000 in medical expenses from Trupanion. We have had this policy with them for over 3 years. We have done everything right.
They had no problem covering him and taking our money every month. The real problem was that they blind-sided us. I know you should never trust an insurance company, but I really believed they were different. If we had any warning at all that they were the same as any other big business, we could have come up with a payment plan at the vet or opened a credit card. We do not have extra money at the end of the month. But instead, we walked in there with all of our pennies in hand...thinking someone out there had our back. "Trupanion will have our back."
But they didn't.
They didn't even help with the diagnostic part of finding out what was wrong with our dog. Or the medications he needed during that time. Nothing.
It makes me sick to think that we have been paying them over $100 a month on top of all the health bills we have. It makes me sad to think that we were taken advantage of by another big business. I have been doing a lot of research on their company and the CEO Darryl Rawlings. It seems he was featured in Fortune magazine and countless other entrepreneurial publications. Congratulations on making a very high end living off of letting down middle class people trying to take care o

People are Great -- the Legalese Isn't
I'd recommend Pets Best because the people I've talked to there when I've had questions have been so kind, but this is my first go around with pet insurance and I don't think the terms and conditions were spelled out well enough for me. At first I thought it was a total 80% coverage of any bill, and then I read more and understood it to be that it would be up to $2500 per claim, but now have been told that it's just $2500 for the year for the same diagnosis. I wish I had had the foresight to have switched over to the middle plan when I had the time but I didn't as it was twice as much as the basic level. But maybe it's worth it in the end to have basic for young animals and as soon as they're a certain age, to move them up just so there aren't any bad surprises.

Compassionate & Outstanding Customer Service
Embrace pet insurance is our protection from having to make the decision of treating our furry family member's medical ailment or taking a potentially huge financial risk. Their customer service has been outstanding; they are honest, communicate clearly, and have quickly processed and been very transparent about the claims process. We highly recommend Embrace, and will continue to use them with our pets.

Have had lots of claims for my two dogs this summer for some strange reason and Embrace has honored all. We are over our deductible so I really appreciate the extra financial help.

Buyer beware--not what you'd expect!
Scoundrels! I began a policy for my dog in 2006. He tore his ACL on March 17, 2013 and had surgery on Mar. 26, 2013. It just so happened that the plan year for his policy renews annually on Apr. 15, 2013. Because of this date being 19 days after his surgery, ASPCA denied coverage of medications prescribed at his follow up appointments, saying tht it was now a pre-existing condition and none of his further related expenses would not be covered for another 180 days following surgery date. Just when you need them, ASPCA Pet Health Insurance will duck and weave and deny coverage-- blaming you as the pet-owner for not being smart enough to read all their emails and purchase a special endorsement that would have filled in this big loophole the wrote for themselves in the original policy. Honesty and integrity means nothing to these people.

Very quick to reimburse for Well Care claim
Just done wellness exam on Friday July 19th, and purchased Heartgard. I received an email my reimbursement check has already been sent on Thursday July 18th, and for the exact amount I was expecting! I wish I had known about Embrace before I lost my sweet Boxer girl to arrhythmia cardiomyopathy. I had a different company and they did not pay ANYTHING, called it 'breed specific', and the paid almost nothing on well care.

Very happy with this Insureance for my two Yorkies
Reimbursement is immediate! So far, I have only had to pay my share of the cost at the Vets office after my pet has been treated.
