I bought pet insurance when my dog was still a puppy and figured I wouldn’t need it until she was an old dog. I never expected my three and a half year old dog to need more than regular vet visits - but she tore her cruciate ligament while walking, just walking. It was unexpected as she was a healthy, active, and very physically fit dog. I was looking at a big surgery and thousands and thousands of dollars in bills. Within a week of approval I received a check and an email from the company checking in to see how my dog was doing.
