Great Service

I went to have routine wellness care for my 4 yr old Pharaoh hound mix, Max, and after submitting my claim, Embrace got back to me within a few hours! They were great in communicating everything I needed and how the process worked. I feel as though I was treated like an actual person with a real pet, unlike most insurance companies where you are just a policy number to them. I appreciate their help and anticipate great service in the future!

Best Pet Insurance I've Ever Had

I have had various pet insurance companies over the years - some of the biggest names out there. From claims, to what's covered, to simply getting someone on the phone, all of them have had issues. Embrace is without a doubt the best pet insurance I have ever had. My story is a little long, but it's what I would want to know, so here goes. In July of 2013, I became a ‘foster failure’ to two kittens, brothers Wyatt + Gray. When I took them in for their final checkup at the rescue, they told me that Gray had a murmur and asked me if I still wanted to adopt him. I said, of course, but had no idea what that really entailed. I took him to my vet within the first week just to get a baseline. I figured it made sense to have her listen to the murmur so that in a year, when he went in for his annual, we would know if it had gotten any worse. At the same time, I called my most recent pet insurance company, ASPCA. They said that with a murmur, they would not cover him for any medical, only accidental. So I decided to have both boys covered for accidental only. The cost was around $25/month. A few months ago, I took my guys in for a check-up and asked how the murmur sounded. My vet told me that she had only heard it at the first visit and not once since. In her estimation, she said it was a 'Benign Kitten Murmur' and that he no longer had it. I wondered aloud if he would be eligible for insurance and she said she'd be more than willing to write a letter if need be. She also told me that she had heard great things about Embrace. I called ASPCA and they said that they'd review the file and her letter, but that it was highly unlikely that they would reverse their decision. Once a murmur, always a murmur. So I called Embrace. From the first call, they were wonderful. They said that I should apply and that after the 14-day waiting period, I would be able to ask for a complete medical review. Once they did that, I would see what would be excluded and what would be covered and if I didn't like it, then I could cancel within the first 30 days for my money back. I did as they said and it all went very smoothly. On March 19 of this year, they were both covered for both accidental and medical for $42/mo (very competitive pricing!) The great thing about the medical review was that it showed me if there were any temporary or permanent exclusions. Basically, after such-and-such date, then X would be covered. Embrace is Great!

Embrace is so easy to work with - they're customer service is consistently great - good attention to detail, thorough, polite and helpful. I've insure our dog Stella with Embrace for the past 6 years and we just added our new kitten Biscuit. Best thing we've ever done for our pets !

We've experienced the need for many claims here lately and without Embrace insurance I know we would be financially strapped by now. At a minimum I think everyone should get accident and illness coverage for thier animals. Thank you for the fast claim turnaround.

Very happy customer

VPI is very quick to reimburse and reasonable about what they will and won't pay for. The phone reps have always been helpful too. I would gladly pay $50 per month if it means I will get back over $1000 in vet bills.

Don't own a pet without VPI insurance!!!

I had originally signed up for VPI because I received a small discount from my employer and we had just adopted a new Black Lab. This was the best financial decision I have made in a long time. Dogs have been my siblings since I was small and without VPI, my best friend would no longer be with me. My Lab developed bone cancer and without insurance I would not have been able to afford the care she needed. Even though my out of pocket has been costly, it would have been too much to handle with out the coverage. For example, of the $1700 MRI bill VPI covered almost $1550 and got me my refund check before my credit card bill was due! I have received all of my refund checks well before the actual bill is due!!! Great service, great coverage, great staff, worth every penny!

Very glad I opted for insurance this time. Was hoping for Murphy's Law: I have it but won't need to use it. Well, my pup has a seizure disorder so good thing I opted for it. Only thing I don't like about Trupanion is they made the dental insurance mandatory. Only $4 a month (approximately) but still don't like that after 1 year they unilaterally decided we should have it.

Really Glad we had VPI

We adopted Chickadee about a year ago, and friends with pets encouraged us to get VPI. I am very grateful for that advice, because she ended up needing to have a tooth out, which was really expensive. In addition to covering the annual vaccines and check-up, VPI covered most of the tooth extraction, saving us over $600. The claim process was very quick and convenient to do, and we received the reimbursement within a week.
