We don't know what we would have done without the reimbursement we received when Einstein, our 18 month old Golden Retriever, ate something that could have caused serious harm to him. Knowing that we would receive reimbursement made the stressful situation much less stressful. The only thing I would wish for is quicker reimbursement. We had to wait a full 30 days for reimbursement. I had provided all necessary documentation and since no one contacted us for more information what I provided was sufficient. It was unfortunate that it took so long to get our funds back.

Never any surprises. This is my 3rd pet coverage with Nationwide Pet Insurance. Now you don't have to wait for a reimbursement check to come in the mail. You can choose to have it deposited directly to your bank account.

Rates in the beginning were tolerable but my pup reached 8 years old my premiums shot up 20%. Also you cannot cancel provisions in your policy except on the anniversary of your policy

Pet insurance has saved my pets’ lives on more than one occasion. My young kitten suffered a potentially fatal urinary blockage, and without a second thought I was able to take him to the hospital and tell them to do anything they needed to do to save him- he was hospitalized with a catheter twice and the third time it happened, within a span of days, the vet stated that he needed a surgery in order to stop this from happening. The alternative was my little kitten’s kidneys shutting down and ending his life. The surgery cost thousands and I was able to move forward with it because of VPI. My cat made a full recovery, is now 3 years old, and I was reimbursed within weeks. In addition to saving my cat, my dog has had a reocurring UTI for over 2.5 months that we are in the process of finding the root cause of- he was recently given the “all clear” of it not being bladder cancer, and we were able to determine that because pet insurance allowed me the peace of mind to make medical decisions based on his health vs my bank account. Within that same time frame, my other dog went into anaphylactic shock in my back yard- another rush to the hospital to save her life and I was able to do it without a thought of the financial burden because of VPI. I’ve been made whole numerous times and my pets are receiving the care they deserve. If you don’t think you need pet insurance for your young or seemingly healthy pet, please research all that this company offers- it isn’t just for accidents. They cover injury, illness, even routine visits. Keep your pet healthy and have that peace of mind!!

Everything went very smoothly

My 82lb AmStaff will be 12 in February and now has heart disease. My vet did expensive tests and although I pay for a plan to get 20% off of my vet bill, it was still well over $1000 for the one visit. I submitted my invoice and receipt to Trupanion via the website and immediately got an email telling me they had received my claim. A few days later, I got another detailed email letting me know that my claim had been approved and that the deposit was going to be in my bank. Wow! How great is this system. This is my second claim and the second time I have been amazed by this company. They truly seem to care about us! I can care for my dog and not have to jump through hoops to get my vet bill paid. We will always have Trupanion as our trusted insurance company!

Easy...quick...the best!

I have had two claim experiences and both were excellent. Trupanion really seems to care about me and my big boy. I tell everyone how great Trupanion is to deal with. My guy is getting old now so we may not have him for much longer but I will always have Trupanion insurance!
