Sadie, six year old lab, was diagnosed with partially torn ACL. We arranged for surgery with an excellent specialist.I submitted the estimate of expenses,and was told ASPCA would cover 80%. The vet said her minenscus had also been torn and a piece of cartilage had detached. Poor pup had been in such pain. Her surgery has resulted in her complete recovery after her physical therapy with us. So great to not have to worry about insurance coverage while we were so worried about her well being. My Golden Retriever has skin allergy issues. We tried everything, the special food, antibiotics, steriods etc. Our last hope was a expensive pill that has to be taken even day. It costs $140 a month. Pets Best processes the claims fast! It of course depends on the volume they receive but for example yesterday was Sunday. I faxed them a very simple claim form. Today Monday, I received a email around 1 PM that the claim was received. Two hours later I received another email that the claim was processed. They will send me another email within 24 hrs with the breakdown. Then the money will be direct deposit into my checking account within a day or two from experience.

That said, after having to make my first claim this month I can attest that the reviews are correct. The claim process was very quick and easy - and the Healthy Paws staff very helpful and caring. They even check in to see how your pet is doing after treatment - in my case a broken toe on my cat. Suffice it to say, I have no regrets with choosing them as my pet insurer and I now have the peace-of-mind that if something more severe were to ever happen that Healthy Paws would be there for me and my pet.

Trupanion were able to provide us with quick pre-approval so the surgery could go ahead (they got back to us within an hour). Then, when making the claim, their representative Donna was very helpful and took charge of our claim so that it could be processed as quickly as possible. We have been extremely pleased with the service and coverage and really would recommend them for pet insurance.

The hold up was Trupanion receiving medical records from earlier vet. After the vet forward and I forward the record, Trupanion still didn't post that they had the record. And then when new claims were submitted it was like it an automatic message that the records were missing.
