Our little girl Chiwana {she is a Chiwene} had injured her back and had to go to the Vet. When we submitted our claim it was just several days until our claim was settled. Pets Best is a great place to get insurance for your pet.

It's time for Pet Insurance to get in alignment with actually caring for our pets. Yes, pet insurance is worth premiums/fees, but it is incomprehensible that there is absolutely NO reimbursement of Hip, Joint, Gums, Teeth, or any other preventative medicine/supplements to help our pets AVOID the malady/illness/surgery in the first place. :( It's unreasonable that there is absolutely NO reimbursement, for example, of teeth cleaning. We all know that having healthy teeth and gums prevents many other illnesses including cardiac conditions that can lead to death. Most pets do not cooperate with owners brushing their teeth and dental cleaning at the vet is required to keep our pets healthy.

I called ahead before getting pet insurance to verify all her first year shots, spay all those things would be covered. I also asked about her umbilical hernia, they said turn it in but it might not be covered, since prexisting, it wasn’t so not too surprised. The issue I have is I turned everything in the day of claim, and my vet sent all medical records within one week, it still took around three weeks to get reimbursed, two phone calls of babysitting! So the 5-10 day turnaround is not accurate. I sell this insurance so I wanted to try it, not real happy with customer service and follow through.

I adopted my dog about a year ago from the shelter and since then he hasn't had the best of luck with other dogs. He is slowly getting there but we wouldn't be here now together if I didn't have pet insurance. His been the victim of two dog attacks. The first time around I didn't have insurance of any kind and the cost was terrible. I was lucky enough that the owner of the other dog paid for my vet bills but after that I was thinking what are the chances this could happen again. About four months later he was attacked at a dog park. By this time I had Nationwide and they covered the full cost. It did take longer to process my claim because at first they thought it was from the first attack and of course they don't cover pre existing conditions. But after calling and sending in the extra paper work needed to show it wasn't, everything was covered right away. It feels great knowing that I can take my dog to the vet when he needs it and not have to worry about what it will cost me. Some people think I'm crazy for paying monthly on insurance for my dog but if I didn't have it I don't think Lord Bahr would be laying down next to me right at this moment while he waits for me to finish this review. Excellent insurance. Just wish you still processed and paid claims as quickly as you did when you were still VPI. Used to have my claims paid in 6-10 days, now it takes over 3 weeks. However that's my only complaint.
