Great company
They are great. Had a routine claim that took a while to process but it got done and they were great about communicating where they were in the process. The app is awesome and I love the ease of using the service. Also, customer service is very responsive. I highly recommend and I am very difficult to please.

Fast claim turnaround and considerate customer care
We have had Nationwide (formerly VPI) pet insurance since our 12 year old beagle/basset was a puppy. The claims are processed quickly and benefits received promptly. The Major Medical plan is great for us, especially now as our dog ages. It covers so much and we don't hesitate to take her to the vet because we know we will get most or all of our expenses reimbursed. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but well worth the cost to keep our pet well and happy.

GET THE RECORD STRAIGHT!
Clearly, you people don't know what you are doing! You sent me a lovely inquiry about Cooper's recent vet visit via email. The vet visit WAS NOT for Cooper, but, for my OREO, who passed away on 1/27/18.
I have been with Nationwide (Veterinary Pet) for a very long time, before pet insurance became fashionable! I was always impressed with the service and speed of claim processing. This time, someone definitely dropped the ball and totally messed up 2 final claims which I had submitted for her and NOW THIS! Maybe Nationwide should either check their employee's work to ensure that these upsetting mistakes don't occur. I just lost my pet- to add MORE frustration and grief to the situation by receiving erroneous claim determinations and inquiries from Nationwide simply complicates things! More compassion definitely is warranted on your part!

Thank God for Insurance!
2018 so far crazy year for us. 2nd year with Nationwide and THANK GOD! We have 2 dogs that are our children and knowing nationwide they are in the BEST SAFE HANDS!!! Had other insurance that didn't cover nearly as much as Nationwide. Vets are expensive everywhere and anywhere. Recently had both boys teeth cleaning and our bill was like nothing after getting reimbursed from nationwide and it was pretty fast too. The vet found a tumor on one of my boys!!!! Tumor as in CANCER! I was devastated and a basket case. My baby has cancer. We had to act fast and get biopsied and removed all like in same week. Meds were all day around the clock. ICU care overnight on day of surgery. Specialist took over cause it was on the face and it was reconstructive. I was in pure hell waiting for test results and kept saying to my hubby THANK God for Insurance !!!! After all said and done from just surgery point over $6k!... Thank God for insurance ....our bill was @ $1000.00 after getting reimbursed. It literally saved us and our Boy!!!! He is now Cancer free!. I could not say enough good things about Nationwide insurance. But I just showed you. I have recommended only this insurance to all my pet lovers and some HAVE switched and are also grateful and see huge savings with nationwide. It's the best when it comes to pet insurance. I did huge research on insurance for pets back 3 yrs ago and i'm ecstatic that we found Nationwide and it was affordable as well. More pets more discount given. So easy to process claims and get $$ back quicker than other companies. Do yourself a favor and try for 1 year and u will see the difference. Pet care nowadays are out of control & insurance is now NEEDED so you don't go broke. Checkups are pricey and lab work or even xrays...forgetaboutit. GET NATIONWIDE!...it's a must

Don't pay for this insurance!!
I was told by my breeder that she signed me up for 30 days of free insurance through the AKC and when I turned in my substantial claim, they turned my claim down because not only did my breeder have to sign me up for the insurance, and did, it had to be "activated by me". I received an email and thought it was a copy with all the names on it. I have never had to sign up AND then have to "activate" it. Who would have guessed I had to "activate" my free insurance after signing up for it? In my opinion, they are just looking for any way to not pay. I would not recommend this insurance, clearly, they look for reasons not to pay. I'm sure there are plenty of other insurance companies with better ethics.

I feel it's a struggle between vet and Trupanion to get thru the process and get claims resolved. Claims for an ongoing problem have often been denied, in our case. I'm considering cancelling my dog's coverage and opt for Care Credit, or just stay put the monthly insurance cost into a savings account for my dog, instead.

No Hassle Reimbursement
We have 2 Maltese's and have had Nationwide insurance for 6 years. Last year, I upgraded to their new plan that has a $250 deductible and then reimburses at 90%. I love the new policy even though it's more expensive than my prior policy. And, they just introduced electronic funds transfer, instead of cutting paper checks, so you get your reimbursement within 1-3 bus days now. I have been very pleased with their service and offerings over the 6 years and look forward to a long standing relationship with Nationwide. I highly recommend them. Thanks guys!

Expensive and Slow
We have used pet insurance for over 10 years. Nationwide has gotten really expensive, so expensive we can only afford it for one of our dogs now. They also are not very quick at processing claims or replying to emails. I submitted a wellness claim and the form printed without the box checked and I didn't notice. It took them almost a month to finally tell me they couldn't process it because it wasn't filled out correctly. The invoice from the vet that was attached clearly stated it was a wellness exam, but that wasn't good enough. Nationwide is just not worth the hassle anymore and their customer service is awful.
