Easy and straightforward process
So far I have been really happy with my decision to enroll my dog in Nationwide pet insurance through my employer. My dog has had an unlucky start to the year with a couple of accidents, so it has been a huge relief to me financially to have this coverage. The claim process is simple, you just submit a form with a receipt. Response and reimbursement time is pretty fair compared to past experience with insurance companies in general.

Nationwide is the only pet insurance to go with.
I tell everyone I know about Nationwide Pet Insurance. When they shop around, they come back and tell me that Nationwide is the most inclusive for the money. And the ease of filing claims and receiving direct deposit via phone notification is really nice. Most importantly is if I notice something not right with my pet, I don't have to worry if I can afford the tests. Or whether or not to take them to a vet hospital, no matter what time of day or day of week. Peace of mind is worth it.

better than human insurance
this has been the best care of insurance I have ever experienced. it feels good that when my dog is injured or sick you feel comfortable to take him to get taken care of. I have suggested to my friends and neighbor to get the insurance and they have and are also very happy. love the insurance keep up the great work and please do not start increasing your prices because they are solid

Unfair assessment of claims - will spin information to their benefit
I have had the most infuriating experience dealing with my claims that were partially denied because Nationwide asserts that the treatments rendered were for a pre-existing condition. Having read the Company's own definition of a pre-existing condition, it is clear that the Company will just bend your vet records to interpret them in a way that benefits them the most; in other words, they will do whatever it takes to spin the information so that helps them avoid reimbursement. I signed up for this insurance for peace of mind for my beloved pet, who actually has a real problem now that will not be covered, and instead I am not only stressing over the health of my pet but the financial burden of paying 100% out-of-pocket now that I cannot trust Nationwide as a provider. My veterinarian even gladly called Nationwide on my behalf to walk them through my pet's medical history which resulted in Nationwide indicating that they would provide additional reimbursement as a result of that conversation. Have I seen that additional reimbursement or had any follow-up correspondence from Nationwide? -- of course not. I enrolled in this benefit through my employer not realizing, at the time, how many other pet-insurance options there are that make so much more sense for the average pet-owner (especially dog-owners). The coverage (or lack thereof) is not worth the premium you pay -- be advised!

given wrong information regarding policy coverage
Would not recommend! Asked specific questions regarding care treatment and coverage for injured puppy and was told by customer representative that is this was totally covered and no problem. Submitted the claims and was denies stating it was pre existing and not a covered procedure. I cancelled the puppy's policy as well as their litter mates polices.
