outstanding pet insurance
Trupanion is outstanding pet insurance. I would recommend them to anyone with a pet. They are more responsive and faster pay than my own health insurance. They have been worth every penny I have spent on my dogs insurance. Keep us the GREAT work!

It doesn't get much better...
After using another company 10+ years ago (around the time when pet insurance was the new craze), I had some doubts. However, when we decided to add another lab to our family. I soon began to lay in bed at night worrying about my financial "exposure" of owning two labs (along with friends of ours that were faced with a $25k vet bill). I soon began to research pet insurance, hoping it had changed and improved. However it seemed like many have not, but after reading way too many reviews the secret to life again surfaced again...you get what you pay for. While Healthy Paws is certainly not the cheapest (or the most expensive either), I felt comfortable knowing I would be covered should something happen. So around the beginning of July 2015 we signed up, waited the 15 days for coverage to kick in and then I finally started sleeping at night again. Well that was until our new lab puppy started vomiting non-stop in late August 2015. We sensed a blockage of course given his age. So we rushed him over to a 24/7 animal hospital and they confirmed that the bozo had eaten something he shouldn't have. It was nice to know we were covered and we did what we needed to do without figuring out which one of us would fast for a week (joking) to help pay for the treatment. Still in the back of my mind I had my doubts, however once I had sent in all of the paperwork (which for a first claim included all medical records) I received a check in the mail less that one week later! So I am a believer in Healthy Paws and I thank them for being there for me and my dogs. So I rest easy again...well after I pick up all socks, kid's toys and just about everything not bolted down off of the floor!

Well worth the money.
I adopted sage and immediately bought the insurance. I purchased the injury and routine visits. I figured her being a puppy, the routine visits would definitely need to be done and she was bound to get into something. I was trying to crate train her and in doing so she ripped many of her nails. She had to receive treatment on her nails multiple times, they had to sedate her and fix the nails. I met my deductible very quickly and was grateful to receive money back that I otherwise would have been out without having ASPCA as my insurance. I had no problem submitting claims and receiving my money back. ASPCA even went as far as calling my vet to verify information. I definitely will upgrade my policy when my year is up to their sick policy. They found after I boarded her that she had a UTI which is not covered because it is sick and not a injury or a routine I really regretted not having the bigger policy.

Very Helpful Product
My cat Sapphire developed renal disease a couple of years ago (he is currently 18 years old now). I have had no issues with Trupanion's handling of my cat's renal claims, and have received timely processing, and payments after I exceeded the deductible. The insurance will definitely pay for itself, as even one small incident can turn into a large vet bill quickly. Very good investment to have for your pet, definitely recommend it.

Why am I paying for Insurance
Every year I have had Pets Best, they raise the price by a few dollars, even if you don't use it. I pay over $380 a year, and unless your pet is really sick, they don't pay anything.
