Very satisfied
We have carried basic insurance for our dog since she was a puppy. I have been pleased by the speed and ease of the claims process and have found it well worth the cost. I also appreciate the peace of mind. Well worth it.

very satisfied
I have three beagles and have been with VPI for quite some time. They have covered every claim I have made and made everyting very easy. I have been glad that they also accept accupuncture as a treatment plan rather than just force surgery. My only complaint is that they take your payment via direct deposit but won't send your claim adjustment via direct deposit.

Outstanding Total Service
VPI has provided outstanding service to our family's care of our bulldog, Bella. They have easy claim form process, extremely fast turn around, fair coverage amounts, and friendly customer service folks available to discuss any questions. Thank you VPI!

Thank you Healthy Paws!
We have had Healthy Paws insurance for our 5 year old adopted dog for years now and it's been a wonderful service the entire time! Our pup may be accident prone but we've used Healthy Paws for dog park bites and injuries, for infections, emergency tooth extractions, and most recently, cancerous growths. Healthy Paws has made it a "no brainer" to get our dog the care she needs when she's sick because so much of the cost of care is covered by insurance, plus filing claims is easy and reimbursement is quick. We did our research before choosing a pet insurance company and we have no doubt that we chose the best. If you're in the market for pet insurance then look no further. Thank you Health Paws for helping us keep our dog healthy and (her AND us) happy!!

Super insurance
I am a VIP customer for over 8 years, I hade many dogs and very satisfied with my insurance. The last time I field a claimed was for my 2 year old Cassidy (boxer/Master shift)she torn her ligament the bill was over $1000 and VIP reimbursed me all, even the after care. I visit Helping Hands in Baltimore and got outstanding service. Cassidy is now back to her normal active life playing with her sister. Thank you VIP for always come thru with repaying my vet bills. VIP helps me also with my Vet bills that can put holes in your pockets with two dogs. If you love your animal you need to signed up for VIP so you can afford all medical care you need to keep you pet in good shape and healthy. The only thing I don't like is you have to wait so long for the re-imbursement.

VPI has been a huge asset for us
I actually first got VPI insurance for my previous dog, Logan, over 18 years ago. The dog we had before him was VERY ill with heart issues and I had no coverage. I purchased VPI the day we brought Logan home. After we lost Logan, I did the same for Bentley. I've never done the math, so I can't say one way or the other whether we got more out than we put in over the years, but I CAN say that it is a huge relief—and a huge help— when you receive that VPI check after a very large medical expense (and we have had plenty). Add to that the quick turnaround of claims and the very personal, compassionate and knowledgeable service you receive when you call, and the insurance, to me, is worth every penny.

I can't complain
Ranger is a 6 year old labradoodle. When he was 2 he tore a ligament in his left knees, which had to be replaced. Then 2 months later he ate something that caused a blockage and had to have emergency surgery. At that point I decided to get VPI. The left knee was of course excluded, but after 6 months the stomach blockage incident was taken off exclusion. At age 4 he tore the ligament in his right knee! Vpi paid for all but my deductible and also covered the laser treatments that got him moving again.

Better than I ever expected!
Our GSD pup Mischka Von Lucian became very ill shortly before Christmas, 2014. She wouldn't eat, had severe nausea, stomach pain and other very unpleasant symptoms. After multiple trips to the Vet, with many tests/scans which could not fully determine the cause of her symptoms (and with our pup getting tired and worse off), she was finally referred to a larger Hospital facility, where it was determined that exploratory surgery was needed to try to find out what was causing her pain and symptoms.
We spent the holidays monitoring and helping to nurse our baby back to health.
I could literally go on and on about how caring this company is, how concerned everyone was about our Mischka's health each time I needed to call to ask a question and even how incredibly smooth the entire process was. But what I'd like to share with anyone who does not have this insurance for their pet is my very sincere recommendation to please look into doing so as soon as you can!
The numbers tell the story (rounded up): $4,400 in allowed Vet/Hospital bills/$3,600 reimbursed by Trupanion. And I have to add that barely one week passed between our date of submission to approval of the claim to finally having a check in our hands. My husband and I were extremely impressed!
I can speak from our personal experience that this kind of response is not typical of all pet insurance companies. A few years ago, when our beloved Beagle needed spinal surgery and rehab - a total cost out of pocket of $10,000 - that the insurance company that we had her insured with for 7 years REFUSED TO PAY A DIME. They seemed more intent on finding reasons NOT to pay the claim, than caring for the pet insured with them. Needless to say, we dropped that company. But when I learned about Trupanion from a colleague at work shortly after that bad experience, I knew that from that point forward any other pets that joined our family would be insured with this company. We welcomed Mischka into our "pack" a year later (she joined Kinsey O'MacKinsey the Irish Beagle & Mr. Trevor the Little Black Dog). I am so happy that friend and colleague shared the word with us about Trupanion. It is clearly one of the best decisions we have made regarding our pet's care.
And oh, yes! I am happy to report that Mischka Von Lucian is well and as happy and energetic as ever. Thanks so much, Trupanion, for not only talking the talk...but also walking the walk!
