Smart to have pet insurance
I think it's smart to have pet insurance but sometimes the deductible and amount Trupanion pays each month doesn't t make it as worth it. However, It's still smart to have the insurance in case of disaster.

Des is great, Nationwide, not so much
Des was awesome! She is knowledgeable about pets & diagnosis codes and she went the extra mile to provide incredible customer service! I wish there were more people like her! Nationwide, however, is becoming a typical insurance company. I know they are in the business to make money, but they seem to be covering less and costing more. My vet recommended them as being the best, but I am less and less sure I agree.

Great to have insurance!
I was debating bringing my dog to the vet for a last minute appointment since i noticed her paw was bleeding. Luckily I was able to get in to see the vet and he prescribed her an antibiotic and checked her paw. While I was disappointed with the $50 vet bill, I was so relieved to see that Nationwide reimbursed me for the great majority of the bill! It reinforced the importance of seeing the vet, knowing that it would not be a burden on my budget.

Great Customer Service - but need to improve reimbursement processing time
Hello,
First, I must say that everyone I have spoken with at Nationwide has been amazing, friendly, and very customer service oriented. So the people side is awesome.
However, waiting almost a month for reimbursement is way too long. Processing time for reimbursements needs to be improved. I receive personal Flex Spending reimbursements within a week. I'd imagine this should be possible, two weeks top, for this type of reimbursement. I'd encourage you to improve this metric.
