Boy, am I glad we have Embrace
Our lab/golden, Daisy, has had digestive problems on and off for the past two years. This summer it came to a head with terrible diarrhea for over a month. Our newest vet was determined to find the underlying cause - which has proved expensive. Daisy has had blood tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, and surgery to obtain a full-thickness intestinal biopsy. She's now been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease, pyloric stenosis, and protein loss enteropathy. She's lost 25% of her body weight, but she's started medications and a food her body seems to tolerate, so we are hopeful for a turn-around.
We enrolled Daisy with Embrace when we adopted her in 2012 so we wouldn't have to consider cost if ever faced with a medical emergency. She's young, so it has indeed been a relief to be able to say to the vet, "just do it." Daisy's medical bills this year have totaled over $5,000 to date, but our costs have been about $1,500. I only wish that we'd opted for the Rx coverage.
The many claims we've submitted have each been handled in about two weeks. As far as I know, there have been no questions about our invoices. Thankfully, our vet practice advocates for pet health insurance - Embrace is among those they recommend - and they're very cooperative in assisting with claim forms. That was not the case with our prior vet practice.
I do wish there was more information available about the claim while it is being processed. Some dates we've had multiple invoices, or the amounts are confusing because they include non-covered costs. I've had to resubmit a claim once or twice due to confusion over dates. If I'd been able to see the details prior to the determination, I'd have been able to fix the problem (and get that check!) sooner. All in all, however, the experience with Embrace has been exceptional.

I will never not have it
My 10 year old Jack Russell had her eye removed in January due to glaucoma. I received generous reimbursement from the initial procedure as well as her follow up care. Trupanion is quick and hassle free. Often times I have an email explaining what will be covered within hours of submitting a claim and a check a few days later.

You Guys are Awesome!
My beautiful 3-year old tabby, Bella, was injured recently. I can home from work to find that her entire forehead was scalped off and her nose and eyes were swollen. I suspect she was grazed by a car on the road in front of my house. I rushed her to the emergency room where she was cared for well. She has recovered completely. My bill was almost $1,000 for the care and overnight stay. I am so thankful that I have Embrace Pet Insurance. Not having to worry about paying a bill like this on my own takes some of the stress out of a very stressful situation.

Excellent Experience
Trupanion Insurance is the first company I have used for pet insurance. It was recommended by my vet when I got my current dog. I never had insurance on my previous 5 dogs and spent thousands of dollars on various injuries and illnesses over the years. I was skeptical about getting insurance because it seemed quite expensive. For my dog, it's about $50 per month...$600 per year. If my dog's expected life span is 10 years, I'll pay about $6000 in premiums over his lifetime. One hospital stay and surgery to remove a corn cob or sock that was eaten by the dog costs around $5000. So I decided to get insurance and chose Trupanion.
My last claim was processed in less than 2 weeks. Even though I've only had the insurance for about 5 years, they have paid me a lot more than I've paid them. I highly recommend Trupanion. The coverage I have does not cover preventive care or office visits. What it does cover is the emergency surgery on a holiday weekend.

Bruno's Second Bout of Pancreatitis this summer
My yorkie Bruno has unfortunately had to deal with Pancreatitis twice this summer and it was quite a trying time for our family seeing him so sick. He has made a full recovery both times thankfully and we could not be more thankful to have Embrace insurance to cover his needs! The claims process is so simple and the reimbursement for both occasions was so quick that I was very impressed. I have recommended Embrace to several colleagues at work who also now have policies! Again, thank you so much for all that you do at Embrace!

Great and easy
We got insurance for our dogs b/c they had a habit of escaping and I knew someday there would be an issue. About 4 months after getting insurance our dog started limping one day. Turns out he tore his ACL. Luckily we had the ortho report approved so he was covered. They were great and easy. Claims are fast and done usually within a week. The biggest headache is remembering to take the claim form with me to the vet. :) Every Lab owner should get this insurance as soon as they get the puppy!

Great experience so far!
Petunia is our third dog, we had lost 2 9 months prior to getting her. We felt like our choice in veterinary care had something to do with the passing of our previous dogs. We wanted to have the opportunity to choose any vet but not have to should the cost of better care. Embrace has given us this choice and knowing that we can make decisions about Petunia's care without having to worry as much about the cost is of great comfort. Embrace has offered us an easy and awesome experience.
