When in the emergency room you can be faced with deciding between trying to save your pet for exorbitant fees or making a heartbreaking choice. Having good pet insurance relieves you of this burden and allows you to focus on getting your companion well. My dog was hospitalized with aspiration pneumonia just before Christmas -- it was an emergency room visit in the middle of the night, she had a temperature of 103. My claim was initially denied because my dog had a pre-existing condition for GI issues (she had been prescribed a GI prescription diet once when she was a puppy). When I called Nationwide the representative verified that I still could qualify for reimbursement because my dog qualified for a review. Since my dog had satisfied the waiting period for this particular pre-existing condition my claim was granted. What a relief and validation that my decision to cover my pet with this coverage was a truly wise decision. I am very grateful to the representative who helped me.

Because the message when I called, did relay that I could go online and get my questions answered, but as I told the representative I'd rather call and get my answer and he was delighted to help and said that's what we're here for! Nationwide Pet Insurance is now provided through my workplace as of last year. As soon as I heard about it, i took full advantage of adding that on to my current benefits as all of my babies are getting older. I am so happy that I did! My pup got ill at the end of the year and had gone into heart failure due mitral valve disease and I could not have managed without this.. It will be a long road for him but Nationwide made it possible and I am forever grateful. Furthermore, for my two other healthy kitties, they easily meet their deductibles just by staying healthy and doing their yearly vaccinations, medications and dental work! This insurance has done wonders, and I will always speak highly of them.

I am extremely pleased with the pet insurance program that I purchased for Abby last year. The entire process for claiming reimbursement is extremely simple and the response to each of my claims has been quick and stress-free. We are lucky to have such a program in place that helps us to take care of our pet. Whether we had the insurance or not, we would have made the decision to perform the surgery to remove the obstruction from Abby's GI tract. That said this procedure was expensive and having this insurance in place made a very stressful decision much easier. Not having to weigh the health of our pet and family member against the cost of making her healthy again meant the world to us. Only a couple weeks after her surgery she is back to her normal self. We would like to thank the nationwide team for providing such an important policy and helping us keep our dog safe and healthy. I have made numerous recommendations to friends and family to purchase this policy for their pets.

We have been Nationwide Pet Insurance customers since early 2017, and I will never go back to owning a pet without Nationwide. From the first claim to the most recent claim, Nationwide has been fair, honest, and quick with our claims regarding Franklin. We recently adopted a second Doberman and I automatically contacted Nationwide to insure her. This is the best insurance plan we can find. It is not cheap, but neither is owning two Dobermans.

I appreciate pet insurance now. At first I thought that it was just another new fangled thing to buy for a puppy but decided that maybe it might be something to do. Then Ellie contracted a serious infection in her GI tract. Her vets were pretty conservative with their diagnostics and treatment recommendations but her bills were still over $1,000. I had thought that I could plan for her vaccinations and eventual spaying but the illness came out of the blue. I am very appreciative of the ease with which I could file the claim and get back to taking care of the puppy. Thanks!
