When it came down to actually receiving financial help for my cat's dental procedure, we received nothing. I wish there was an endorsement for adopted cats. I rescued Brea from a shelter, it's not like I was going to inspect each of her teeth at the time. There is no way for me to have anticipated how much it would cost for her dental work. Each of the interactions I had with the claims adjusters was fine, which is the only reason why the rating isn't lower. If it wasn't for the fact that both of the people I spoke with were so kind, I would give a much lower rating.

Having the extra security of loving care
I llike how I have the security of knowing that I'm able to care the best care of my baby Xanadu. She has had many issues and Trupanion is always here for her.
I'm a Dog Trainer and very involved in the dog world. I'm always telling students to get pet insurance for you just never know what might happen. I was the first client to have pet insurance at my vet and she has falling in love with Trupaion and now has fliers in her clinic.

Skimpy coverage for cryptorchidism
We found out our puppy had genetic condition affecting testicle descent. He had a neuter surgery, and it was more expensive b/c of extra abdominal incisions. Trupanion only counted $80 towards our deductible, even though the vet bill said $200+ was due to the genetic condition. I like how easy it was to submit claim and how fast you processed it, but feels like the coverage is less than I expected.

So easy to use - once you have spent the $1000 - your vet puts in the charges and Trupanion is right on it. Love it!

Fantastic insurance coverage - can't believe I am actually giving an insurance company 10 out of 10.
I have worked with a couple other pet insurance companies and not one of them has been as easy to work with. Nationwide is responsive, easy to place a claim with and amazingly fast on approvals and payouts. I'm impressed and would recommend them to anyone with pets as I found out, you just never know when a large expense can happen and having this insurance makes sure I can make the best decisions for my pets without having to worry about the cost as another deciding factor for best treatments.
