Nationwide Came through when we needed it
My dog Jackson ate grass to the point that it became impacted in his stomach and he needed immediate surgery. Including x-rays and surgery the bill was over $6,000
Nationwide reimbursed me over $2,000. A nice help in a stressful/expensive time. Exceeded our expectations!

No hassle claims, good service
This is the first time I've had pet insurance and I have to say it's been a pleasant experience so far. Claims are handled fast, I can e-mail them (very few people use a fax and fewer still have a landline) and know they'll be reviewed promptly. When I called to get a quote reps were personable, warm, and made sure I understood my different options. I certainly wasn't pressed into choosing the most expensive plan, which I appreciate. I am keeping the plan next year, so that decision speaks for itself.

Good coverage and resource information
It gives us great peace of mind to know that we will be able to afford to address our Charlie’s medical issues. Especially as he gets older. However there does seem to be a long lag time between claim submission and claim payment.

Straightforward, easy to submit claims without hassle
Very straightforward system and easy to submit claims via the app (though it does takes several weeks for claims to process - hopefully that can be sped up). Love that all his records are in one place. Wish my own health insurance was this easy!

Your claims take too way long to process
I have had VPI for about 20 years and have been incredibly satisfied. However, I know your policy states claims can take up to a month, but when large vet bills are charged to a credit card, I need to pay that card with the money I receive back from insurance; or, I need to know in a more timely matter that a claim is ineligible for reimbursement so I can make other arrangements. Whenever I have had to make adjustments in my budget to save money, I never ever look to cut VPI- the coverage has been invaluable to me over the years, but improving your turnaround time is something that really needs to happen.
I do commend you for the recent option of linking my account with Chase. I am very happy to receive those reimbursements a lot quicker through electronic transfer, but please do something to improve the turnaround time on claims!
