Used to Be the Best Insurance When It Was VPI Pet Insurance
I'm really upset that after years of being a loyal VPI customer and getting a great deal of financial help for both the big issues and wellness issues, I have gotten denied for more claims under Nationwide in one year than in all my VPI years combined. Additionally, I mentioned during one call that I was unhappy at the huge jumps in policy premiums on the accounts I've actually had to use for my pets. Again, the jumps were not as large under VPI, and this has become like people insurance: if you use it, you are penalized with higher premiums. It is noticeable on three pets where claims were made, but the increase was small on the pet for whom I've not made a claim in years. If not for the pre-existing condition clauses on other policies, I would be taking my business elsewhere.

Get insurance now or you will be sorry
I really like my insurance and my vet told me about how fast they pay out but I like the customer service but do not like that my premiums are going up slowly. Even thought this is happening, I am not going to change because I got the best for my dog.

Nationwide Service is great!
Nationwide has been a great partner when it comes to pet insurance. They are very responsive and quick. Couldn't ask for more. I have been using nationwide since Duncan was a puppy so for about three years, I am a very happy customer and would defiantly reccomend to other pet owners!

These guys are great! Highly recommend.

Lack in clarity
I feel like the information about what is and is not covered is not so easy to find and left me with a big a hole of coverage that I thought my pet was covered for (therapeutic/holistic coverage). If I had known this I would have definitely opted for an additional rider and coverage years ago -- looking at my policy record it seems I'm a pretty great customer in the terms that I have paid always on time for the 8 years my pet has been enrolled. Crunching the numbers, Trupanion has loads more that I've paid in than I've claimed back. I'm feeling definitely lukewarm to cold about coverage and the clarity in what is and is not covered.
