General comment

I have had Embrace insurance for my dog for about almost 2 years, and unfortunately, have had to submit several claims, but each and every one of them were handled quickly and professionally. In addition, there was an issue with a determination by the company based on medical records provided for my dog, and after bringing the issue to their attention, they revised the determination of coverage, which was greatly appreciated, and the right thing to do. Thank you for great service!

Thank you Healthy Paws!!

My little dog was having seizures. After running several test, they found that he had a shunt that was causing his blood to NOT go thru his liver to be cleaned. The toxins from his blood were causing the seizures. They were able to go in & put a divice around the shunt, that will eventually swell & close the shunt. Pretty major stuff & I'm no Dr. But all his Dr's were wonderful & I have never had pet insurance before, I have spent thousands in the past on other pets. I am so thankful for Healthy Paws, they paid on the claims immediately, they have been fantastic!!!! I highly recommend this pet insurance! They have been so wonderful & really seem to care. I'm telling all my friends with animals & recommend they sign up!!

Great Service

I've not had to use file many claims, however when I have they have been very quick to process them and answer questions. Highly recommend.

Setup Fee

I just ordered insurance for my Border Collie puppy through Healthy Paws. After I purchased the insurance, I received an email confirmation that also stated that they charged my credit card a $25.00 setup fee. Even though this fee is small, the fee was not disclosed on their website and it seems dishonest to me for them to assess a charge without telling you about it up front. I purchased insurance through this company because of their high ratings but this is not a good way to start out a business relationship by adding hidden costs to the policy. Consequently, I am giving them a 2 rating for dishonesty. I may raise their rating later if I have a claim and they perform well.

Great Concept and Exceptional Customer Service!

When we became happy parents of a precious Chihuahua pup, I decided I never wanted to be in the heart-breaking position of not being able to afford to get her treatment for a serious accident or illness. After seeing the excellent online reviews for Embrace, I decided to give it a try. I really loved that we were able to design our own insurance plan. I chose "accident, illness, dental and prescription" coverage with a $500.00 deductible, 80% coverage after that and a $10,000 max yearly pay out. We signed up when our baby was less than two years old for a yearly premium of around $250 - $300. Now that she is a more "mature" lady of 11, our yearly premium is about $475 but it's still tons less than human health insurance and well worth it for the peace of mind it gives me! In the past year I placed some claims for allergy testing/treatment and having some skin growths removed, which they covered with no hassles. Their agents have always been friendly and informative and they had a check in my mailbox within a couple of weeks! I often tell people that our dog has better health insurance than WE do! And, at least when it comes to the yearly premium and deductible, it's true! I have highly recommended Embrace to a number of friends, family and even strangers I've met at the vets. Two thumbs up Embrace!

SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS INSURANCE

I am so thankful that I purchased this insurance. My 2 year old male husky somehow twisted, fell, and or tripped in our back yard one evening. We ended up taking him to the 24 vet on a Sunday with a swollen front paw. He was put on "bed rest" and given some medicine for 2 weeks. Unfortunately his leg remained swollen, so after follow up with his regular vet he was referred to a specialist for a bone fracture and a ligament issue. He ended up having to have surgery to repair the injury. So far we are up to $4,800 in vet bills, thank God I have this insurance. The insurance has paid his bills (less our portion) without issue and very timely. It is so refreshing to have a company actually perform as promised. Every single person I have spoken to at the company in the 2 years we have had the insurance has been excellent. THANK YOU!!!

Used to be good but they are slipping

When I started out the rates were a little high but I felt it was worth it to know that my dogs' health would be taken care of and their customer service was FANTASTIC. Recently I feel like my rates are really going up and not all of my claims are being reimbursed in full, it also takes upwards of 30 days to process my claim. Customer service is now just so-so. In my opinion they have slipped since being bought by Nationwide. I would recommend for younger dogs with NO preexisting conditions but not for older dogs.

Provided best care ever!

Winston, our 7 year old dachshund, got under the wheel of a rolling car while out camping. The tire was sitting on his head. After he regained consciousness, we went home and then to a 24 hour vet clinic where he got excellent care. After spending the night in ICU, he was able to go home. I didn't know exactly what my ASPCA medical insurance would cover, but I felt confident I could let the pet hospital do whatever was necessary and the expenses would be covered. I was exactly right. I was promptly reimbursed 70% of this costly incident. I couldn't have been more pleased with how my claim was handled.
