The coverage seemed clear - stated deductible and 90% reimbursement, but communication on what would be covered has been really poor. I called to see if a dental cleaning for a particular amount would be covered @ 90% since my deductible was met, and was told it was. Two weeks after my claim was submitted, I was told it could take up to two weeks to process my claim, and they would not be able to tell me whether or not it was covered until then. When I explained I was told when I called before the treatment that it was covered, I was just checking on reimbursement, the person I spoke with said they never pre-authorize, and I never should have been told that. So now I spent nearly $1000 out of pocket for an optional dental cleaning, that may or may not be covered. Horrible, misleading, inconsistent communication. I've never heard of ANY medical insurance of ANY kind where you couldn't find out BEFORE you had any service how much would be covered. Worse yet, that I the person I spoke with before said it was covered, and only after I went out of pocket someone else tells me it may not be.

I saw a flyer for Trupanion at my veterinarian. I asked our vet about Trupanion and he said he had good feedback from his clients. So we signed our dog Abby up. When we did have a claim it was easy to file (online or old school by mail). We got an email in a couple days acknowledging the claim and saying we've got it from here". That's it. They contacted our vets and processed our claim. We got paid by check after we reached our deductible. There is also an option to have direct deposit or pay the vet directly (if they are signed up). I would highly recommend Trupanion and I have.

My claim was processed very quickly and I received reimbursement electronically which allowed me to pay my credit card before any interest charges and fees were accumulated. It was really a hassle-free experience.

I had the pet insurance for my older 2 dogs that passed away last year and I was very satisfied with the service. We now have a new boxer puppy and I signed her up for the Nationwide Insurance right away. Recently she had stomach issues and she had to spend the night at the vets, she had an ultrasound and IV treatments. I feel that my dog is extra protected by having the insurance. The coverage is great! You never know what a puppy can get into, so protect your little loved ones!
