wouldn't go without health insurance for my fur ba
we wouldn't go without health insurance for our selves so why would we go without health insurance for our fur baby. It's so nice to be reembursed for our vet visits and meds. We have peace of mind of knowing that if our little Khloe ever has a major health issue or surgery that our pet insurance will be there to help.

I wish I would have had this insurance sooner!
This insurance is a must have! I used to have VPI for my other dog that had numerous health problems. He unfortunately passed away from cancer last year. Their fee schedule was an absolute joke as I believe it was from the stone ages. After taking in a stray dog we looked into a new insurance. Healthy Paws seemed like a good choice after reading the positive reviews and looking at their reimbursement practices. I just had to use if for the first time to have a growth removed from our dog. They literally processed the claim in a day. I received an email that our reimbursement check was on its way. I received it within 3 days total. VPI took weeks to send their piddly reimbursement check. Healthy Paws paid 90% of the claim and I could not be happier! They even sent a follow up email to check on Addie. I don't mind paying a little more for efficient service as well as a great reimbursement rate. The best part is that there is no cap! I wish I would have had it for my Boxer that was riddled with health problems from the start. Do yourself a favor and don't wait because veterinary care can be in the thousands. It will save you in the long run as we all want what is best for our pets.

Score!!!!!
I have an 11 month old English Mastiff. I decided to purchase pet insurance because, with his size, any procedure or expense is super-sized. Boy am I glad I did! I got FULL coverage, both wellness and illness. He recently became extremely ill with an infection in his tail that left him unable to eat or walk. What peace of mind I had, knowing that my vet could take the necessary steps to effectively treat him and that money was not the deciding factor in his treatment. I had him neutered and micro-chipped while he was under for the tail amputation. He is now fully recovered (minus a tail)and happy as a giant puppy can be. Claim submitting has been super easy and the people at VPI are not nit picky and confrontational as I feared they might be. I feared that I'd have to fight and justify every expense or visit to the vet. But NO, I've never had to further explain any of the the 3 claims I've made, I just send them in, then in about a month, a check or explanation letter comes.

Very Thankful for the Insurance!
As soon as I adopted my Georgie from the shelter, I added her immediately onto my insurance policy with Embrace that insured my other dog, Lucy. In the very early morning of 2/15/15 (a Sunday), Georgie yelped out in pain as she jumped off the couch. I knew something was wrong and when I checked her, I noticed her stomach was bloated and painful. I immediately got dressed and rushed her to the emergency vet hospital. They took her back and said she had sludge in her gall bladder and needed surgery. I told them to do whatever they needed to do. About 2 hours later they called me to tell me that when they did the ultrasound on her, they saw that she was bleeding internally because her spleen had ruptured and there was a tumor on the spleen which they thought was hemangiosarcoma - a deadly cancer. They said if it was hemangiosarcoma (which 70% of the time it is), she would have at most 6 months to live. Without the surgery, she would die in a day or so. I told them to do the surgery. They told me most people put their dogs to sleep when they hear the possible diagnosis. I'm not most people. My dogs are my family. She pulled through the surgery and they removed her spleen, the tumor and her gall bladder. I was devistated at the thought of her dying in such a short time but we wouldn't have the biopsy results back for a week. She was released the next day with staples running almost the entire length of her stomach but she was eating and drinking and recovering well. That Friday night, I got a call from the vet's office to let me know that they had biopsied the spleen, tumor and gall bladder and there was NO cancer in ANY of them!! She beat the odds!! The surgery was $4,500 but it was easy to make the decision to do the surgery knowing that Embrace would cover it. On 2/25/15, I had my reimbursement from Embrace in my checking account!! That's faster than my own personal health insurance!! I have seen posts on facebook in the past week from 2 other dog owners about the same symptoms/disease/cost and they put their dogs to sleep because of it. I'm glad that I decided to go with the surgery and play the odds because now I hope to have my Georgie for MANY years to come!! Thanks Embrace for being there and handling things so promptly!!

Terrible
How can I get denied because of a pre-existing condition when 4 vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with my little girl? These people are the true scum of the earth. Don't waste your money. I'm confident that any positive review is from a vpi employee. Literally 4 vets, including neurologist and internal medicine specialist. No diagnosis. That's not what I'm upset about; these miserable scumbags said that it was a pre-existing condition. My kitty passed at the age of 10 months. She deserved better, so does anyone that cares enough for their pet to get insurance. VPI WILL NOT HELP!!!! They look for any excuse to get out of their responsibilities. Dog sh**. Pun intended.

Good communication and a good result
My Golden Retriever became ill, vomiting and diarrhea - took her to our vet and they ended up keeping her overnight and giving her an I.V. My first submission for a claim was denied actually, but they explained what I needed to do to "appeal" the claim; that is, provide more information from the vet, which I did. Once I sent the additional required documentation, the claim was then approved and paid. So, at first I was dissapointed that the claim was denied but then they worked with me to turn it around. Thanks.

As advertised!
I have never purchased pet insurance before, but decided to get it for our standard poodle, who was a few months old at the time. I took care of all my preliminaries right away, so as not to have concerns later. I made clear between Embrace and myself what preexisting conditions there were and moved on from there. So now, not quite a year into this and our dog took and ate a bunch of raisins. (The only thing he has ever taken off a counter!) Well that landed him in the hospital for 3 straight days getting an IV to push the toxins through.
I was mostly impressed with Embrace and the speed and payment of the claims. I did have to go back and have our vet fill out a fair bit of paperwork, but it all worked out well. On occasion Embrace does so down processing for no apparent reason, this is the only reason I will not give them a a perfect 10. Most claims paid in about 2 weeks but a few longer than 3 weeks. Their payments on the claims were EXACTLY what I expected it to be.
With lots of unknowns out there I am glad to say that the process and benefits were what Embrace said they would be.

Embrace is the Best
I am so glad I'm a member of the Embrace Pet Insurance family!!! We purchased it when our Bullmastiff was a puppy and we are so glad we did. We also purchased the well visit part and the insurance has really been a blessing for us. Fergie has had small problems like all new puppies and bigger problems now that she is almost grown (she has allergies). Embrace is right on top of things and when I send in a claim form it is handled quickly and they always let me know they received it-and after they process they follow to make sure it was handled properly. I would highly recommend them. They are terrific!!! And having insurance on your pet is a must!!!!! You never know what can happen!!!Thank you Embrace!!! We are happy customers who know what a good insurance company is!!!!!! We would encourage all pet owners to purchase Embrace-to Protect your Pet!!
