Excellent coverage and customer service
I have only submitted 4 claims so far, but have been very happy with their customer service, their ease of submitting and checking on claims and their coverage. This is the best think I've done to never question whether I could afford to give my dog the care she needs when needed.

Excellent Coverage by Trupanion
I am so thankful to have Trupanion pet insurance for my multipoo, Jake, who has had some health issues starting from an early age. No matter the problem, they have relieved much of the financial burden resulting from Jake being treated by his vet. Any questions or concerns that I have had are always addressed and resolved quickly by the caring, courteous & knowledable staff.

Easy to use, fast processing times
I have had multiple unfortunate issues with my Standard Poodle regarding embedded fox tails. This required multiple surgeries and after surgical complications. It also eventually required a trip to a specialist for a CT Scan of the area. The dollar amount paid out by myself and the insurance company wasn't as high as some reviewers, but for me it is the ease of the process and quick processing time provided by Healthy Paws that I am very satisifed with.
The claims process consists of you selecting which dog the claim is for and uploading the invoice. I am very happy that Healthy Paws is always there for me and I will recommend them to everyone.

HEALTHY PAWS DECEIVING CONTRACT
healthy paws is not to be trusted
They accepted to insure our super healthy dog 2 years ago. They requested health docu, ments that we submitted and we have paid them ever since. We never filed a claim until today because our dog had a fox tail accident. Suddenly they don't know if our dog is healthy and they need more medical records that they never mentioned before, so basically they just take your money for years and then once you have a problem make it impossible to get a reinbursment. You will only find out how dishonest and deceiving this health insurance is when you file your first claim! Even if your dog is super healthy and it is 100% obvious the problem was just an accident.
Dont fall for this scam. I REGRET having this insurance!

Processing time good, email communication different
I always appreciate that Trupanion can process claims expeditiously. The new system is not clearly explained to clients on the website, but it mostly seems to work. What was missing for this latest claim was the usual email I receive after a claim has been assigned a number. So I was surprised to see that on the cat's list when I logged in to check the status. All I had received was the initial email that the claim info had been received and then an email today that the claim has been processed. If there is something I should be doing to make our communications flow better, let me know.

Sick pup
My recently adopted Australian Shepherd/lab mix had terrible vomiting, and required an ultrasound and ER visit. Looks like she came to me with a cat toy in her tummy.
I had signed up with MetLife dog insurance through the rescue group. Boy , was I glad I did!. MetLife was terrific. Easy to fill out the paperwork, just sent in the medical report snd the bill. I feel good about being able to take care of my Piper female without worrying about my bank account. Thank you, MetLife.

Pet Parents Cannot Afford to Not Have Pet Insurance
Never in a million years did I think I would have a Vet bill this high, but it did. Leo, my 13 year old cat had three severe complications all within a two week time period. I considered letting him go, but the Vet told me had a good prognosis and I had Trupanion Pet Insurance on top of that so we proceeded. One thing led to the other and when it was all done I ran up three credit cards and maxed out one of them to pay Leo's bill. I'm happy to announce that Leo is doing great as if the whole incident never even happened. I'm even more thrilled that as promised Trupanion paid paid almot 90% of the bill minus a couple of very small exclusions. To anyone considering pet insurance, it is my opinion that you can't afford to not have it. I wouldn't have a Leo right now had it not been for Trupanion. The monthly plan pales in comparison to what a major vet bill can run. It is so worth it and I am so grateful for Trupanion.

Marcela, As per the policy we do require full medical records for all enrolled pets in order to process claims. Once full records are received (typically we ask for them when you file your first few claims) we will keep them on file for future claims processing and you will never have to submit full records again. In the future, if we do need clarification for a specific claim, we may simply request the date of service exam notes for that visit. We appreciate your efforts in providing those records. Your recent claim was covered in its entirety with the exception of the exam fee, which are excluded by your plan. Covered items were applied towards your chosen deductible. As with any plan that has an annual deductible, that must be satisfied before any reimbursements can occur. The Healthy Paws Team
