In almost every instance, Trupanion has been outstanding. The only setback is that the rates tend to increase a bit. each year. That adds up with three dogs! If they offered a fixed rate, I would have given them a 10.

Everyone I have spoken with at Trupanion has been extremely knowledgeable, kind, and efficient. My only drawback to your plan is that you don't cover parasites. My dog Buttons contracted heartworm even though I had given her Hartguard religiously from the time I got her. She had also taken it the month before she became available for adoption.

Claims appeals process !!
It unfortunate that I had to fight with your company to get my pet's claim covered. The appeals process is a total mess. You basically called my vet and my surgeon liars but claiming my dog had pre-existing conditions. I eventually won the appeal but then was charged an additional deductible. It seems that Trupanion tries very hard to get out of paying claims especially in older dogs. Thankfully I was reimbursed for the money owed to me but I shouldn't have had to go through the process of fighting with you. Your appeals process is a complete trainwreck.
