Petsbest is the best!
First time dog owner and was skeptical about pet insurance but I have had such a great experience! PetsBest gives great returns and I’ve received my reimbursement in less than 2 weeks every time!

Next to 0 Claim Coverage
I adopted a dog on 11/1/2024.
Prior to adopting the dog, I had to set up a vet intake appointment to prove to the shelter that we would have a regular vet. I set that appointment for 11/17 a few days before going to adopt my dog.
On 11/14, I started a Pet’s Best policy after spending some time reviewing options—3 days before our intake appointment so the policy would be active in time.
At the same time, my RECENTLY ADOPTED DOG WITH NO HISTORY OF PAIN, started showing signs of hip or back pain. I didn’t know if it was an injury or a chronic problem, so I asked the vet what to do. They let me know since she was still eating/drinking/pottying and walking I could wait until our appointment.
At that appointment, we discussed testing some meds and getting some imaging done.
In December, I had an immunization appointment where I also picked up meds. They denied the claim because the “undiagnosed lameness” presented in their stupid 14 day window.
Then, when I got imagine done in February, they denied that claim, too.
Again, I had this dog for TWO WEEKS when I started a policy for her. But because she started presenting with symptoms at the same time, for the REST OF HER LIFE, her hip dysplasia claims will be denied.
This is an absolute discouragement to adopt, and especially to adopt older or medically complex dogs. Mabel is around 2, and I had no expectation she would be medically complex…
But now the policy I got for her so she’d be well cared for even if money was tight won’t cover her biggest need.
If I find a policy who will cover her (now diagnosed) hip dysplasia, I will leave Pet’s Best in an instant.
They love money, not pets.

Peace of Mind makes all the difference
I recently had an extremely emergent situation with my sweet dog. She needed emergency surgery and to spend a few nights in the hospital. I was given an estimate of 7-9K. However, I was able to easily decide to get her the care she needed knowing that I could trust Pets Best to cover 90% of the charges and to process the payments within a month or so of my submittal. I had many smaller claims covered very quickly in the past and this set my mind at ease. It gave me one less worry to deal with at such a scary time. I was able to concentrate on getting my girl better and giving her all my love without having to worry how I was going to pay for her care. I was able to put the fees on my credit card and pay off 90% of it before any interest was even applied because I received payment very quickly after submitting my claim! I always recommend Pets Best to other pet parents!

First Time User of Pets Best Insurance
"We are a first time PetsBest subscriber, which we got for our new little orange kitten, Leo. We used it for the first time when we had him neutered and vaccinated. We were glad we had the insurance as it was very expensive. The submission and reimbursement was quick and easy, thank you!"

Great Service from a Great Company
"Our five year old Golden Retriever had to have a small mass removed from her front foreleg. A week after the surgery — and one week before her sutures were due to come out — she got away from my wife in out backyard and ran and jumped like she was completely fine.
After a trip to an emergency Vet to fix her opened sutures we now had to deal with a new bill to submit.
Pets Best was wonderful in the way they handled our claim and were very quick to reimburse us. We couldn't be happier with our experience!"

Frustrating Outcome
I recently filed several claims with Pets Best and much to my dismay, they denied a series of x-rays due to a pre-existing condition but the X-rays were taken for a lump on my dogs belly. They assumed the x rays were for her hip but the SOAP notes very clearly state it was for her chest. When I brought this to their attention, their customer service rep Julia tried to help me out and get them to review it, but instead of the claims department owning their mistake, they said I must file an appeal which will take 90 days. So now I must file an appeal and essentially send in documents I already sent them , in order to get them to fix THEIR mistake. Very very very disappointing.

REIMBURSEMENT IS GREAT
"I have had Pets Best for my baby since he was 2 months old, and he is now 11. This has helped us tremendously with the unexpected issues that rose up. Having Pets Best is definitely a great help. I have spent so much money over the past few years with all the issues. He now has arthritis, he went blind last year from SARDS, and a few other issues that have come into play but thankfully the test have come back negative, or we have been able to rectify with proper care. Having reimbursement in place has been a big help with all the medical expenses. I would not have been able to financially keep up the care I have been able to provide for my baby if it were not for Pets Best. I have called them and the 24/7 WhiskerDocs on several occasions and everyone is always helpful and caring. We highly recommend getting Pets Best for your baby/babies. Although, I do wish the premium did not go up every year, lol."

Pawsome service, Healthy Paws!
My 8-year-old Havanese (aka "circus dog" – always jumping) lived life on easy mode… until last year. First, he got Lyme disease, then a mystery limp. Vet ran all the tests, found nothing, but the bills sure found me. Healthy Paws covered its share in a few weeks - which is reasonable given that this was his first insurance claim.
Then, plot twist: orthopedist discovered that he had an ACL tear. Surgery needed ASAP. The bill? Yikes. Healthy Paws? BOOM – claim paid in 3 days! Faster than my dog can steal a treat.
Pawsome service! Keep up the great work, Healthy Paws!
3 slobbery kisses from my pup! 🐶
