Trupanion is superior
We chose Trupanion when we brought our Golden Retriever (Sammy) home 2-1/2 years ago. Having had a different pet insurance provider for another one of our dogs, we have experience and Trupanion is hands-down superior. Trupanion’s website and app are super easy to use, their telephone agents are very helpful, and claims are handled expediently. As a 30+ year dog parent, we’ve learned that pets often have recurring conditions. Trupanion understands this and has accordingly built a compelling and unique business model. As you shop pet insurance providers (as you should) this is an important policy consideration. Pets get sick and pets get hurt and it’s stressful; Trupanion gives us peace of mind.

We purchased insurance the day after we adopted a dog that we believed to be healthy.
We purchased insurance the day after we adopted a dog that we believed to be healthy. It turns out she had a tumor and some other issues that we didn't know about but there is absolutely no coverage for those conditions because they were "pre-existing". The ONLY way I would recommend this coverage to a friend is if they are adopting a puppy.
