Exam should have been an eligible expens
The claim took a long time to be processed. The examination fee wasn't covered when the exam was part of his sick care. The dog had to be examined in order for them to determine how sick he was. It should have been a covered expense.

I know you need to make money to give the incredible coverage but doing the math I’d pay almost $900/year for deductible and monthly fees along with the one time fee.
I know you need to make money to give the incredible coverage but doing the math I’d pay almost $900/year for deductible and monthly fees along with the one time fee. With a puppy that had every test done and parents tested for eyes, heart, brain, hips and DNA with guarantees in contract from breeder I’d be better off putting $50/month in a savings account. I am proactive in my care for my dogs. You don’t cover office visits, or even specialists office visits. I’d just rather put money into my account. If I need it it’s there. If I don’t I’ve saved $900+/yr.

A life-saver!
Hilda needing emergency surgery during a pandemic right after I lost my job would have been an absolute disaster if not for Trupanion! I just filed the claim as soon as I got the bill and they processed it immediately. And the check arrived much faster than expected! Thank you!

Well so far all my dealing with people who work there have been great. The monthly rate is reasonable and I feel relieved knowing is anything serious happens to my dog he will be covered.
