Our 9 year old Newfoundland was suddenly diagnosed with a belly full of blood from a ruptured spleen due to an undetected tumor. Despite the >80% chance that this was a malignant cancer, we took her to the local veterinary surgeon who took out her spleen that night. Now a month later, she is back to her spunky self and even better, the pathology was read as benign. Having pet insurance allowed us to do what was best for our canine family member and not worry about the cost. The claims process was easy and hassle free and made a terrible situation into one with a happy ending. Thank you.

Healthy Paws Pet Insurance review Saturday evening, before Super Bowl Sunday, our 16 month-old Bernese Mountain Dog pulled up lame in the left hind quarter. We decided to see if it resolved by the morning and Sunday morning he couldn't even put weight on the Right fore leg! Up to the vet. Came home with not definitive cause but administering pain meds. That same day, during the first quarter of the Super Bowl, he could not breathe! Seemed like he was falling apart on so many fronts. The 50 mile ride back to the vet was surreal, I was in the back with Whit praying for him, pounding on his chest to provoke some breathing and begging him to stay with me. The thing I didn't have to worry about was how we were going to pay for his care. For the first time in 40 years of sharing our hearts and home with our canine companions, we had taken out pet insurance. We did this because we anticipated that, like our other Berners, Whit would likely experience orthopaedic issues in his 5th or 6th year. Never did we anticipate that before his 1st birthday, we would have over $10,000 in vet bills and that within the next six months we would add over $5,000 in a different episode! And, he has - apparently - recovered more quickly than his shaved legs have grown back the hair from the IV and other procedures! He is a wonderful, hardy fellow and we are so grateful for his recovery and that we have a partner in financing his health escapades.

It took forever for me to get reimbursed. I’m taking months. A lot of back and forth calls between vet and the company.

Our first (and only) experience has been great. Went for wellness exam and vaccines, and having opted for the extended coverage, we were thrilled and impressed at the extent of coverage, as well as how quickly and professionally the claim was handled. I have six dogs and have tried almost as many pet insurance companies. I've been disappointed in all of them, until Trupanion. When my young puppy got a mystery skin ailment that we had trouble diagnosing, Trupanion was there every step of the way, right up to the specialist. Their customer service is awesome, and the speed of their response to claims is astonishing, with reimbursement just as fast. If I could, I'd rate them higher than 10!

As I've come to expect, my claims were handled fast, accurately and with the right amount of feedback along the way. Thank you!
