Couldn’t be happier
I am so grateful for having signed up with Trupanion for insurance for my cat. As we know unexpected things can certainly come up. Long story short my cat was hospitalized for two days and without Trupanion my cost would’ve been close to $5000. they reviewed my claims instantly and approved everything. They paid the vet directly, and I only had to pay the balance. highly recommend!

Claims
I have 2 pets on this insurance. 2 claims were reveiwed, both claims accepted. It is stressful having pets with medical problems , dealing with the stress with the comfort of the pets, they are family, don't want to see them in distress. Thankfully
this has helped take some stress and worry away. Thank you

Very dissatisfied
We have been satisfied with this company until last year.
Since the Summer of 2022 the insurance has not reimbursed us for any veterinary/emergency visits for our beagle. They don’t reply anymore to the phone, you cannot leave a message, and whenever I wrote to them the past 8 months I got an automatic reply, see below:

Pet Insurance is saving my dog from a painful life
My previous dog had cancer. I didn’t have insurance and had heard that it wasn’t worth the money. I spent all of my savings on chemo for him. When I got my new dog I was afraid she would get cancer one day and I would not be in a financial position to pay for it. I never wanted to be in a position of putting my pet to sleep because I didn’t have the money for health care.
My vet recommended Trupanion and I chose a 1000 dollar deductible to keep my premiums down. I thought that I would be able to cover vet costs unless she was hit by a car or ended up with cancer when she was older.
My new puppy seemed happy and healthy until she was 5 months old and I noticed she limped after a busy day. She also started to have a problem with yeast in her ears.
Now my dog is 20 months old. Her ear problem has continued and I have now spent more on her vet care for her ears than my deductible. While it is nice that costs associated with her ear infections is covered now, I could come up with the money to pay for it. Her problem with limping, however is a different story.
My beloved dog Calabaza has elbow dysplasia in both front legs. Without Trupanion I would not have been able to pay for the CT scan that was required to confirm the diagnosis and plan the course of treatment let alone pay for the treatment. Without treatment my beautiful golden retriever would suffer from arthritis as her elbow joints disintegrated. As a pet owner who considers her dog a member of the family it would have been devastating to have to decide between helping my pet or financial ruin. Luckily, I don’t have to make that decision, thanks to the Trupanion policy I purchased.
I am so grateful to have Trupanion. Within minutes of the specialist vet telling me Cala needed a CT scan I received an email telling me what Trupanion would cover and how much my portion would be.
My dog is having surgery in a few days and I can spend my time deciding how I will manage her aftercare instead of trying to find a way to covèr the cost.
Thank You Trupanion!!!

Great Company
I’ve had Healthy Paws insurance on 4 of my dogs over the past dozen years. They remain consistently great to work with. Claims are processed quickly, it is very easy to understand coverage, and I don’t ever find myself fighting to get a claim paid out. I got a new puppy a few months ago and didn’t think twice about immediately enrolling her with Healthy Paws. When she needed emergency treatment a few months later, I didn’t have to consider cost at all. Sure enough, Healthy Paws paid the claim within a week. I highly recommend this company!

Amazing! So happy with Healthy Paws!
Healthy Paws was wonderful. My 4 year old havanese/yorkie had to have major back surgery. I of course was devastated. The surgery went well thankfully, but I was left with a large bill. I submitted my claim to healthy paws and was notified immediately the claim would be worked on. Then right after that it was in process. 2 days after that it had been finalized. They were so fast, I couldn’t believe it. A week later I had the check in my hand. They were truly great! So fast, so efficient. The whole claim process was so easy. They even checked in to see how my dog was doing. Highly recommend! So thankful I had Healthy Paws as my insurance provider during this difficult time. If you are looking for pet insurance, Healthy Paws is the way to go! They were great!

Catherine, We truly appreciate you being part of the Healthy Paws family for over 12 years. We're sorry that your recent customer service experience did not meet your or our expectations. In regards to your claims, your 2022 claim was not eligible for coverage under the behavioral exclusion in your plan. Your other claims were either processed/covered and applied to your deductible or denied since they were for a condition that was noted as being pre-existing prior to your enrollment or during the plan waiting period. We do our best to be transparent throughout our website, during the enrollment process and in the plan documents available to each client in their online Healthy Paws account regarding the limited exclusions of our plan. Those exclusions are pre-existing conditions, preventative/routine care and the office visit fee (vet exam, emergency exam, recheck or consultation). Anyone visiting our website can see this information on our “Benefits, Coverage and Exclusions” page.
