One of best decisions I ever made

My rescue cat, Max, has had several health issues over the past few years. Thank God for ASPCA pet insurance. I don't know what I would have done without it, especially this year with his needing surgery to correct a congenital problem. I look forward to many more years with my sweet little furry footed companion!

Cupcake is doing much better!

I am very pleased with Nationwide for my dog. They are very professional and efficient. I would recommend them to any pet owner who is in need of an insurance for your pet. Also, they are quite affordable.

Fast and fair claim process.

I have had this insurance for over a year and a half and the service has been outstanding. Any issues were handled quickly. Some claims take a little longer due to the complexity. Overall I’m extremely satisfied.

Takes to long to reimburse claims

The past year Healthy Paws has downgraded their customer service. The representatives are not as helpful. Claims are denied, that were paid in the past and more times than not appeals must be filed which take forever to resolve. Claims submitted in the past used to take a week or two for reimbursement now they take over a month. Some Sit for a week before they are even acknowledged. Often there are delays that set the claim back, meaning they need clarification or more information. When the information is included. And don’t think you can call Healthy Paws and speak to a representative without a ridiculously long wait. I’ve waited hours before. Rest assured they take your monthly premium on time with delays. This company has become very frustrating. I switched my puppy to Trupanion from Healthy Paws because it is more reliable, There hours of operation are restrictive, they are not available 24 hours a day like others. If you have an emergency and need to speak with Healthy Paws the could be unavailable. Healthy Paws blames the summertime on these conditions, my response is hire more people if more people are filing claims. Very disappointed in Healthy Paws!

Nationwide service is 2nd to none!!!!

I was considering dropping the coverages for our dogs. Gut instinct told me to wait. It's a good thing I listened to my instincts. Not even a month later our Dusty (cocker spaniel) began limping. He's a fit 10 year old, 30 lb, active dog but also an off and on all day napper. When the vet told us he had a torn ACL and meniscus damage, my heart sunk. Putting him down made me ill to think of it. Dr. L assured us Dusty would do well in surgery and recovery. He was right, and today Dusty has only a slight limp, (it's not quite 6 weeks since surgery), but can put weight on the leg and foot, and is getting stronger every day. Nationwide and their caring claims staff made the process easy, quick and highly efficient.

Quick with turnaround time for payment online

While I do appreciate the quick turnaround time on payment of claims, I feel that the premiums are too high, but at the same time, I am glad that I have the insurance when I need it.

I've have had a claim sitting there since July 15 and I'm trying to do a electronic payment and it won't let me set it up
