Great in handling claims
My 14 year old dog starting having food problems and after many tests at the vets., it was determinded that she had cancer. I had to have her put down. All my claims were paid within 10 days each time. I was so grateful that with all the saddnss I was going thru, claim checks were something I did not have to worry about. Thank you Pets Best!!!!

Incredibly happy with this insurance!
I did a LOT of thorough research on pet insurance as we have a puppy English Bulldog, which are prone to so many health issues (most of which are excluded in other insurance plans like VPI - i.e. cherry eye, ACL issues, etc). Luckily we got the insurance at the perfect time -- one month after getting the policy she got pneumonia, then a slew of other skin allergy issues, none of which were previous conditions. I've regligiously submitted my bills and forms via fax, and through the process have spoken to the Pets Best customer service reps many times over the phone -- everytime they are responsive, helpful, and compassionate. The are able to answer my questions honestly, and provide me with info that I sometimes even forget to ask! I've called to ensure that a specific procedure is covered - and they always give me a straight answer. I've never been led astray by Pets Best, and they have covered every one of my vet bills just as promised -- $75 deductible on every diagnosis, and then they pay at 80% of the remainder. EVERY TIME. I highly recommend Pets Best, and have encouraged all my other bulldog owning friends to sign up ASAP. Thank you Pets Best for being so helpful! 8/21/2008

Head and Shoulders Above The Rest!
I’ve been using pet insurance for over 10 years, and have experience with a half-dozen companies. I’ve been using Embrace since Summer 2007, and have submitted claims for a minor condition in one of my cats, and more recently, many claims for a serious condition in my kitten.
Embrace has handled all claims beautifully – their claims process is streamlined, efficient, and fast. Their customer service is not only the best of any pet insurance I've used, but of *ANY* company I've ever dealt with.
For more detailed information, you can visit the Invisible Voices blog where there is a great series on pet insurance. On this page I’ve reviewed Embrace twice, and throughout the series I’ve posted about some of my history & experiences with pet insurance. http://invisiblevoices.wordpress.com/2007/04/07/pet-insurance-part-4-reviews/#comment-4839

Good experience with first claim
My 6 month old Dobe ate a sewing needle and needed a surgical extraction and extended care. Submitted $550+ claim and got $329.00 back. Took a bit longer than I expected... but the customer service folks were friendly and showed me the new claim check feature they installed online. I'd recommend after this experience.

Would Recommend
Got Trupanion's insurance this past Feb. Filed our 1st claim after our dog had an accident playing in our backyard in July. 20 minutes after I faxed the claim form/invoice from the vet hospital I received an e-mail from Trupanion saying they had received info and would begin to process. 2 hours later I got a phone call from the claims office saying they had approved claim and check would go out the next day. I received check 5 days later. All in all, a great experience and everyone was very pleasant.

Reimbursements Based on Impossibly Low Rates
ASPCA Pet Health Insurance is the third pet insurance plan we've tried over the past 20 years. Their coverage is average, their "fine print" is average, and the speed of their claims handling is average. The biggest and most heinous issue with this company is their adherence to reimbursements based on a totally out-of-touch, unreasonable and almost fraudulent set of "average local charges" as published by some pro-insurance-company (and perhaps owned by them) rates researcher.
Generally, ASPCA has reimbursed our claims at an average of 40 to 45% of what we've had to pay the veterinarians, regardless of the illness, medical procedures, or other costs. For a $350 procedure, they "allowed" $151. For a $260 procedure, they "allowed" $127. This is not including deductables. When we asked them to provide the name of a single veterinatian within 25 miles who charged what they were "allowing," they claimed to only go by this published book and could not provide names. When I asked for the name of the publisher of the book, they refused to provide it. Needless to say, the book, whatever it is and whoever publishes it, has no relationship to the real world and merely serves to accommodate their unreasonable payouts.
Think twice about any pet insurance company. In hindsight, we've realized that it would have been more cost-effective to self-insure by setting up a savings account and paying the "premiums" to that account.

Highly Recommended!
Embrace just approved my claim for my lab's TPLO procedure. Everyone I dealt with was caring, compassionate, and easily accessible. I am so pleased with Embrace. I would highly recommend Embrace to all pet owners.

Too many exclusions
I have two dogs and three cats insured by Petshealth and amlooking for new carrier. Their pre-existing condition
clause is a deal-breaker; moreover, they refuse to cover
dental disease of any type . My greyhound had severe dental disease and, only after the ASPCA liaison intervened, was I able to get reimbursed. Now, a calico
cat I rescued was diagnosed with gingivitis and this claim,
too, was denied. I guess that petshealth would rather pay
for the heart and kidney failure that dental disease causes
than correct the problem before it becomes life-threatening.
