I highly recommend Trupanion
Trupanion processes claims extremely quickly. I have been very happy with Trupanion and would recommend it to anyone considering pet insurance. I only wish they would consider covering medicine for pica (when pets eat non-food items, like rubber gloves and electrical cords) because the medications which curtail the behavior are relatively inexpensive compared to the cost of surgery. As a result of the pica, my cat has had two endoscopies and one abdominal surgery. Medications for "behavioral problems" aren't covered, but should be for pica when it can cost thousands of dollars for medical procedures and prevent injury to a pet.

Excellent care for 17 1/4 years
I have had Pet Plan / Pet Secure for 171/4 years. I had two Bichon's until March / 09 and now I have one. I have always had the best plan for my dogs and even when I only had 50 % coverage because of multiple issues they always paid my claims promptly and allowed me to provide the very best care for my dogs. My dogs have and had many many issues. Rufus (17 1/4 ) has kidney failure, Cushings disease, recurring anal gland infections, a heart murmer, allergies requiring allergy shots biweekly since age two and he had a near death experience when he was 12 when his larynx collapsed at the groomers. Along with 3 crutiate ligament surgeries , a laser eye treatment, dentistry from a veterinary denttist and countless other medical issues Pet Secure Insurance has paid a large part in maintaining Rufus's (relative) good health. He does not look ill and he is maintaining his weight and is still going strong. We had Toni for almost 13 years. She had bladder stones, crutiate ligament surgery, heart disease and many surgeries to remove benign lumps. Again my experience with Pet Sercure has been amazing and I heartily recommend it to any caring and responsible pet owner. I never wanted to second guess what vber my vet told me the dogs needed. I never wondered about the cost of a procedure.
My claims were processed quickly and I never had a problem. Both dogs eventually were at the 50 % coverage rate but 50 % of their very large bills was still a great help. Kudos to Pet Secure for providing excellent pet insurance.

Quick, personal,and professional service
Yeah to Embrace! I was surprised how quickly and efficiently my claim was handled. Being that I work in the health care industry (with people, not pets) myself and deal daily with the run-around that most often occurs before settling claims, I was expecting to have to fight for my reimbursement when my dog needed vet care. Embrace was so professional to work with; an agent was available to speak with upon one call, the claim form was easy to fill out, I received immediate feedback regarding the status of my claim, and reimbursement was in the mail within 2 weeks. I know some major Insurance companies that could learn a thing or two about customer service from Embrace. Keep up the good work!

PetsBest is the Best
PetsBest is the best insurance company out there in my opinion. My dog got a herniated disk a month ago and we had to take him to MedVet and see the specialist. We had to do bloodwork, MRI, x-rays, surgery, hospitalization, medication and more. After all said and done, it cost around $4000. PetsBest approved my claim 5 days after it was submitted with no questions asked. I had other small claims in the past that were taken care of as well, but this one was by far the biggest expense, that I was not prepared for. Thank you PetsBest for being there. My dog is walking again:)

Outstanding Customer Service!!!!!
Four months after I adopted my sweet little black lab "Honey," she decided to eat a good portion of a rug in my home! As a result, she had emergency surgery; needless to say, I was very worried! The only thing that I did not have to worry about was how Embrace would work to process her claims and reimburse me as quickly as possible.
From the moment I dealt with the Service Representative, Christine Wrona, I knew that processing Honey's claims would be easy! I received courteous, prompt response to every question and genuine concern for Honey.
Well, the story ended well...Honey is fine but I keep a close eye on her. Like other Labs, she loves to eat but I did not think it applied to rugs!! I could not recommend Embrace strongly enough!!!

This Plan is a SHAM. Do not waste your money!
After making me jump through hoops to download their forms and take them to my Vet to fill out. this company covered NOTHING! I'm embarressed that I bothered my Vet and her staff to file any of the paperwork at all.The claims reps are company all the way and really of no help.
I would never recommend this Insurence to anyone for any reason.
My overall rating of this company is a big fat 0.
I plan on contacting the AKC and giving them good scolding for endorsing this company to begin with.

Essential Plus
I love the coverage. It has paid for itself in the year that I have had it. I have always had top customer service and quick claim payment. I just wish coverage was more affordable but that is they way of life with insurance.

Embrace is Excellent!!!
I have my 3 labs insured with Embrace, and unfortunately one of my labs had to have his tail amputated after a case of "happy tail" led to a terrible sore that would not heal after 5 weeks of bandages, antibiotics, etc... Lea and Carrie were absolutely awesome!!! My veterinarians were so impressed with the personal level of service I received from Embrace that they now have Embraces' information available for other pet owners in their lobby. I can't say enough about how happy I am with my choice of Embrace for my dogs insurance.

Read the Policy and Compare to Other Providers
When you look at ASPCA (Hartville) as a potential provider of insurance for that special member of your family take into consideration the reviews you read on this site. Some are very good and some are very bad resulting in a rating in the 5 - 6 range. As a person that has learned by experience, after 1.5 years with ASPCA I am now looking for a better alternative. Based on my first year experience, I would rate the ASPCA policy with a 7. The claims process was easy, they were very conservative in their reimbursement of my claims (allowable amounts for my region are much lower than the amounts charged by veternarians) and the premium costs seemed reasonable. When I did the compare of my premium costs to my out of pocket costs less reimbursements the result was self insurance would have been less expensive. This is typical of any insurance policy because the insurance is there for the big events. As we moved to year two my rating goes to 2 and I caution people to consider other providers. My dog exibited symptoms that indicated potential liver problems. I made the decision to have tests done to know what was causing the syptoms and if treatment was needed. I submitted my claims to ASPCA with confidence that they would be there for me (as they promise in their web marketing). To shorten this story, ASPCA did not delviver on the brand promise of protecting our little friends nor the marketing promise presented by Hartville on their web site. They said that since blood tests were done outside of the plan period (this is their way of avoiding payments) that should have indicated the syptoms or should have allowed my Vet to diagnose the problem I had a pre-existing condition (#18 is their code). Four claims have been denied, customer service has been polite but very slow to respond and I feel there is limited recourse. I now realize that I made the ill fated choice to buy insurance from a company that co-branded with someone I trusted but that did not mean it was good insurance. Hartville invests their money into web marketing and limits the funds going to robust customers service. The business model depends on very limited payouts so the policy is written to accomplish that. When you do the math in terms a policy that is replaced on a yearly basis so that anything in the previous year could be pre-existing unless you can demonstrate the 180 day rule you cannot win with this company. Rates go up every year and the odds are the things they will cover go down. It is not a scam, it is just a business model that is based on greed and a brand message that does not ring true.

Tater says thanks
I would like to say we have been very impressed with the professionalism, caring and promptness of Embrace Pet Insurance. The experience has been much better than I ever expected. After our last dogs passed away we thought we would never have another dog again. But then our Sweet “Paw”Tater joined our family. Since he is an enthusiastic chocolate Labrador, and I wanted the joy of taking him out into the field as a fishing buddy, and the insistence of others to get pet insurance, we settled on Embrace. Having never purchased pet insurance and not really know what to expect, so I relied on customer reviews and the Embrace website to identify issues. So far we are very happy we choose Embrace. This last May we noticed Tater would limp after a day at the dog park. Tater was initially diagnosed with fragmented coronoid process of the ulna (a type of elbow dysplasia), but as it turned out there was an uneven growth of the ulna and the radius in both front legs which has caused pain in the elbows. A dynamic ulnar ostecotomy was performed on his left leg (the right will be performed once he can use the left again). It is actually better this was the problem, as he will have less of chance for arthritis in the future. All through the process Embraced approved the veterinarian’s cautious approach to possible treatments. While this required several steps it has saved on un-needed procedures, time recovering and ultimately will be the best for Tater. Tater says thank you Embrace.
