Excellent coverage and customer service
I have had my pets covered by ASPCA Pet Health Insurance for several years. During that time I have turned in numerous claims, several for some specialized treatment, and I have been very fairly reimbursed. Thus far I have had no problems getting a representative on the phone or via e-mail, and those I've dealt with have been helpful, compassionate, and extremely niced to work with. I have recommended ASPCA Pet Health Insurance to several of my friends and will continue the coverage unless something unforseen happens.

Easy to work with, great customer service
I have our 2 boxers insured with Pet's Best. So far I had two claims and both were paid without any issues. I did not use their coverage for things like shots or teeth cleanings but their plans for surgery and accidents worked great for us. They offer monthly payment plans and discounts for more than one pet. I was with VPI before and the issue there is that they use a list of standard cost for services. IF your vet charges more you don't get your refund based on actual cost. I was able to chose the vet and service I want and they have not let me down. I'd give them a 10 if they would offer some kind of refund if you don't file a claim for the whole year but I guess that is wishful thinking and does not happen with any insureance...unfortunately.

Don
I read the Embrace coverage policy top to bottom and I was really disappointed. The illness coverage covers one thing only: " a congenital and genetic condition." As a owner of a mix breed dog I just am not all that worried about genetic conditions that pure bred dogs are known for. What I AM worried about is illnesses like Kennel Cough or Lyme Disease if my dogs vaccination is unsuccessful for some reason. What about these? Not all that impressed with Embrace. I was going to buy it because of all of the good reviews it got and the discount my work offers, but the illness policy just doesn't cover anything I need it to.

won't pay for covered procedure.
My Yorkie was diagnosed with bladder stones five days after my re-newal date and surgery was set up. I called ASPCA to make sure this was covered (since he'd never been treated for this before). I was told it would be but when the claim was sent in, they said he developed these stones in a prior plan period. I tried to reason with them, but they were unreasonable and i just got mad. Now the vet is trying to get the claim through, but is having trouble. I would not recommend this insurance for anyone who loves their pets.

"Reasonable" Costs Unfair
I had ASPCA for a year plus and I work in the dog industry. After a year they NEVER paid the full 80% promised due to the "allowable amount". I received discounts at the vet because of my work and it still was too expensive according to them. I would much rather pay a per incident deductable than that. It is hard to write something so negative but I hope it helps others.

Plan Administered Helpfully & Responsibly
My beloved German Shepherd became very ill and was euthanized recently at age 12+. He lived a long and healthy life. About 4 years ago I insured him through the ASPCA program. I chose the "primary" program which covered illnesses and accidents, and I knew that those would increase as Chance aged. Also, not even insurance companies for humans cover pre-existing or chronic conditions. This coverage was reasonably priced and I soon found that the interpretation on claims was pleasantly and surprisingly good. My only surprise was the interpretation for coverages at the time of renewal. Nonetheless I felt that this program was fair and as reasonable as could be. Service reps were nice, and e-claim filing a blessing. My confidence in treating my baby was increased because of this program. Susan 11/19/08

Can't say enough good things about Embrace
Having had my Boys insured with another company where I was not happy I went shopping to find something that better fit our needs. I found Embrace through their partnership with Best Friends and could not have been happier. Having reviewed the material and got a quote I called to check on some issues I had with other policies. The folks at embrace answered my questions in a straight forward manner without the insurance lingo and they suggested I send my dogs health records for review so they could tell me up front what would not be covered. That was so helpful. Whenever ask I always recommend Embrace because their coverage beats anything else on the market.

Prompt & Easy to Use
I enrolled my dog in Embrace Insurnace 6 months ago. Fortunately I did not need it until 3 weeks ago. She ate 14 pieces of sugarless gum containing the toxin Xylitol. She was treated successfully and the claim was processed immediately. I was pleased with the fast and fair handling of my claim. I would recommend Embrace to others.

So far so good
I have just initiated a health plan for my dachshund Smitty, and havefiled no claims, so my comments are based simply on the start-up
process - which has been excellent - especially in comparison with
my attempts to obtain coverage from another server. The other server
made it almost impossible to proceed, so I didn't.
Smitty was adopted from an animal shelter, and his medical history
is a little sketchy. But he was thoroughly checked out before adoption,
and again by my vet. Nevertheless the other server wanted documentation
that did not exist, they were plod-slow in responding, and ultimately
I got on the internet and did some research.
Smitty was approved for ASPCA Health Care almost immediately. I
have had a series of follow up questions, and each of them has
been answered promptly, by a human being, and not by
auto-response.
We all have had personal experiences with insurance companies
bordering on the inhumane. At this point, I will put my trust in
this program; if developments change my outlook, I will update
these comments.

Quick claim processing
We have had the AKC policy on both of our dogs for about a year now. We have had no problem submitting claims or receiving payment in a timely fashion. They have paid all claims appropriatly. Our only disappointment was to find that they did not cover congenital diseases such as hip displaysia. We may look into another plan that does cover ALL congenital conditions. Other than that, I would say this is an excellent plan.
