Very organized, accurate, and affordable.

All of my 7 claims that I had with my two puppies have been received and refunded appropriately. Every time I call customer service or email, I always receive kind customer service and accurate information that I am asking about. Thanks Aspca Pet Insurance

Just another pet insurance company ...

There is nothing outstanding about Pets Best. I've had my 2 dogs insured since I've had them (2 years). Seems like I might have made the wrong decision when I chose Pets Best. I have given them several opportunities to "help" me want to stay a customer - but each conversation with them is friendly yet ineffective. I like the simplicity of their plan - it's pretty straightforward about percentage payout, you get to use your own vets; but - they seem to be "overloaded" with paperwork and behind the 8 ball. I originally faxed my claims to them on 8/21 and got a fax confirmation. There is no where on their site detailing the procedure for handling claims. The only thing I could see is to wait 10-15 days for processing. Apparantly, once you call they tell you that you'll receive an email confirmation once it has been received. I wished I could have read that on their web-site ... It would have saved me 2 weeks of waiting patiently. I emailed my claims in again, expecting the email - and that took over a week to get. Despite my calls to check that they've been received. So now it's 3 WEEKS later and I still can't get a real confirmation that my paperwork has been received. WEEK 4 - I finally get the emails that they have processed the claims - and most were correct, except one. So when I call again - I am told I have to file an appeal. They just left charges off - so should I refile those charges? or file an appeal and wait ANOTHER month to hear back about the appeal. What if they tell me then that I have to refile the claim because they left off some charges. Is that going to take another month to refund??? SHOULD IT TAKE THAT LONG TO GET RESOLVED?

Take your business elseware

Don't bother spending your money with Embrace, they consider a dog having diarrhea and an upset stomach a "pre-existing" condition. Therefore they don't cover any other stomach/diarrhea issues. This was my first claim. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Best Insurance for Pets

I used to work at an animal hospital and saw many different pet insurance companies. Most of our clients had VPI and all I ever heard were complaints about that company so when it was time for me to get insurance for my dog, I did some research. Out of all the companies I found, PetsBest seemed to be the best fit for my dog. I have never had a problem with them and they process claims very quickly. So far I have had to file a few claims. Last December, my dog ate a 1lb box of chocolate and had to go to the ER and then in April she was attacked by another dog and, again, had to go to the ER. PetsBest never questioned anything and they sent over $100 back for each of those claims. They even cover dental cleanings which most of the other companies don't cover. They sent back a check for over $100 for that also. From what I had heard about the other companies, I wasn't expecting to recieve much back from the claims so I was pleasantly surprised when I recieved the checks. I highly recommend this company.

Great Wellness Coverage

Pets Best actual pays what they advertise. I religiously take my dog Isabell to our Vet for check-ups. Best Best Wellness with no deductible has returned more in services than I have paid.

Benefits Out-weigh the Cost

My 150 lb Bullmastiff cracked one of his lower teeth (canine fang) and he appeared to be uncomfortable because the root was exposed. I took him to a veterinarian who specialized in dog dentistry. I had two options - pull it or put a crown on it. Needless to say, the cost of a crown was extremely prohibitive ($2,000+) and it would have created maintenance issues because it is common for crowns to come loose and they usually end up being swallowed, therefore needing to be replaced. The vet assured me he would be fine without the tooth (unlike some animals in the wild who rely on their canine teeth for survival). Pulling the tooth required major surgery. I realized why after seeing the tooth once it was pulled (the entire tooth was over 2 inches long and looked like it had come out of a shark!). The cost of the surgery was almost $900 of which my pet insurance covered over half without any question or delay.

Horrible experience with PetsBest

After being insured with PetsBest for almost one year, I filed my pet's first claim to find out that even though my pet was covered, the $34 dollars would not be paid. When I called the customer service representative, I was given a long-winded run-around and then finally told that if I wanted to pursue the matter, I would need to hire an attorney. My 8 year old German Shepherd was recently diagnosed with spinal-myopathy, a degeneration disease that was supposed to be covered with my policy. It wasn't and so I have cancelled the policy and will try to warn everyone that this company is one large weasel!!

Two Claims/18 month German Shepherd

I have only had two problems with my 18 month German Shepherd, both minor - and Pets Best has paid minus the $75 deductible. The second problem, a seed husk in the eye was taken care of, BUT, I didn't understand, whether the deductible was for one year or for each occurrence. You should tell your people that e-mail can come across as rude. I would have liked the respondent to have said "thank you for asking, etc." So, am I going to continue, ?? I see a lot of not so good comments.

HUGE SCAM

Please read my story below...I have filed formal complaints against this company with the BBB, and the Attorney Generals office of both Missouri and OhioI would like to file a formal complaint against PetsHealth Care Plan based in Canton Ohio. Their practices are very deceiving and just plain unethical. I have had a pet insured through their plan since 1998. In the past 10 years I have paid the premium promptly each month and have only made one claim. Back on August 14th I took my dog to the vet because he seemed to be having problems. At first they thought he had some type of intestinal virus and put him on antibiotics and I was to bring him back in a couple of weeks. He seemed to get somewhat better but we returned on August 16th and they thought he might have Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. They took blood work and then treated him with additional antibiotics. The blood work came back 3 days later and unfortunately the news was much worse. He was diagnosed with Canine Leukemia. Within two weeks he went completely downhill and we were forced to Euthanize him on August 31st. Understand that I have been insured continually since 1998 on this pet. Now they have refused to pay on a claim from 8/16/08 because they claim that it was a pre-existing condition prior to my policy renewal date of 8/15/08. If this is the case, it should have been covered under the policy prior to 8/15/08. How can they be allowed to deny a claim that was made when my premiums have been paid monthly for the past 10 years. Not only do we have to deal with the grief of losing our pet of 11 years but now we will not get reimbursed for the cost of his care when I have paid over $2400 in premiums over the past 10 years. This is unethical and should not be allowed. I want my premiums refunded to me for the past 10 + years. This type of poor service should not be allowed. At the very least I expect all my claims to be paid
