Poor customer service
I have had my elderly lab insured with them for almost 10 years. The premium has continually increased with decreasing coverage (most recently $102/month). They also have a manifest clause in the coverage that does not cover a condition from one plan period to another for 6 months. Basically, an existing condition is only covered for six months such as osteoarthritis. The customer service representatives are courtesy but are not knowledgeable about the details of the policy. Lastly, they charge a 10% cancellation fee. I

Outstanding in every way!
I have 3 pets signed up with Pets Best. 2 cats and 1 dog. 2009 has proven to be a very trying year with all 3. The dog had developed a violent cough. After seeing the regular vet he was off to a specialist. $1568 later we have a diagnosis of "allergic chronic bronchitis". Multiple claims were put through for this dog. Every single one was paid at the 80% after deductable. Checks were in my mailbox in less than 10 days. My out of pocket expense? $333. I've called several times with questions and have had great support from the customer service team. The cats have gone back and forth this year with Irritable Intestinal disease. One had to have a barium sweep. Both have cost me hundreds of dollars! Pets Best again paid the 80% after deductable in record speed. No questions asked! I have heard stories from friends and colleagues about other pet insurance companies. I am so glad I went with Pets Best. I have nothing but good to say about this company. Smartest decision I ever made.

ASPCA Pretty Decent
My 1 1/2 year old tcup yorkie was recently very sick and passed away. The vet bills from her 5 day hospital ordeal were over 1800.00. After submitting my bills I was pleased to be reimbursed for 900.00. The vet was unable determine the cause of illness and wrote a few things that could be considered genetic so I was concerned that they would not pay for her diagnosis. Much of her treatment included medicine which I do not believe I was covered for. I found their customer service very helpful and payment was quick and easy. I was also pleased that they cancelled my policy without charging me additional premiums since my pet passed away.

Very good company unless you really need it.
I was one of the first customers with this pet insurance company (my original policy number was 195) starting in 1989. So, over the past 20 years, I have paid a lot in premiums.
I had the misfortune of having two diabetic cats in a row. Pet Secure (formerly Pet Plan) did provide excellent service for a lot of years. But, with my last diabetic cat (who also had kidney disease), I started to have a lot of problems. I would have fights with the reps, including one woman who wouldn't let me say a word and was yelling me down. Then my claims started to be paid on a sliding downward scale (down to 50%)as I was making too many claims. Well, I paid 10 years of premiums on that cat with the expectation that if he became ill, his vet bills would be paid. Unfortunately, Pet Secure didn't have the same expectation.

Simply the best!
I have 2 cats (we lost the third late '08), 1 dog and two 60 gallon fish tanks. Having insurence was always in the back of my mind, but I never seemed to do it. I was the lucky winner of the Petsecure Pet Month contest and 1 year of pet insurance was just one of the many wonderful prizes I recieved.
I count my blessing that I have never had to use it, but have a small dog(Pomeranian) in what seems to be a big dog world, it sets my mind at ease. It was easy to register and they sent me out a complete package outlining exacty what was covered. There are not many things they don't cover and at a reasonable price. When I called them they were very friendly and helpful.
Petsecure has my vote for a top notch company with excellent customer service! I will continue to keep insurance on my dog with Petsecure even after my year has expired!
I would reccomend anyone with a pet to explore Petsecure's options. I did a little exploring prior to winning the contest and was not very happy with what I found as other companys did not meet my needs.

Phenomenal Customer Service
Working with Embrace has been one of the most pleasant experiences I've had with any business. Our bulldog developed a severe limp when he was only 11 months old and after consulting with a couple of orthopedic specialists, came to the conclusion that he would need to undergo surgery to repair a patellar luxation (make sure you get a second opinion...the first surgeon wanted to do some exotic TPLO surgery to fix a cruciate that turned out to be perfectly intact). After surgery (which went very well) we submitted our claim for the initial X-ray with our regular vet, the consult with the surgeon we went with, and for the surgery itself. The claim took a little while (~2 months) to process, but that was entirely due to the delay in getting detailed records from the different providers. Embrace kept me in the loop the entire step of the way about what additional items they still needed and how I could help in getting them, and ultimately the claim was accepted - very fair and transparent. Can't say enough about how customer-oriented and caring they are. While I hope not to have to submit another claim for our boy, it makes it much easier knowing that we have a policy with such a great company.

Peace Of Mind!
I decided to go to the breeders house with my sister to see her puppy (just born at the time). I had no plans on getting a dog, I was just going along for company. When I got there and seen all the dogs I feel in love. The breeder informed me that someone backed out last min and there was now a dog available if I was interested. How could I say no! 8 weeks later we went out to get our puppies and I had everything home waiting for her, new bed, blankets, toys, treats, leashes etc. One thing I didn`t think of was Pet Insurance. Our breeder had a Puppy Package ready and informed me that he had signed Mia (what I named my puppy) up for a Pet Insurance Trial Package. That encouraged me to look into it further and seen all the beneifits, and signed her up permently. Some people have the attitude that nothing will happen and if it does then they will just deal with it. I like having the peace of mind that Mia is looked after, I hope I NEVER have to use it, but I sleep better at night knowing that if I need to use it she is going to be well taken care of. The staff at Pet Secure are excellent, they are so friendly and answer all my questions and always ask hoe Mia is doing. I would and do reccommend Pet Secure to anyone that is a pet owner. My little girl is taken care of and that means the world to me!!

Outstanding customer service, caring and trusting.
When my 15 month old was diagnosed with luxating patella, I was shocked. When I had the consultation and got the bill I was devistated. The doctor told me my insurance would more than likely not cover it. I did my footwork anyway, and Embrace kept me posted almost daily on what they needed from me, and what would be left to do. It brought me to tears when my puppy's surgery was authorized. I am eternally grateful for the financial load they lifted off my shoulders. That left me with the ability to focus on my pet. They even asked for pictures so they could see my puppies! I really felt like they cared about my puppy, and when surgery was done, I got an email with well wishes. They are top notch, and amazing.

Excellant Comapny for any Pet Parent
We are very pleased with Embrace. Previously we has VPI pet insurance. When we made a claim with VPI the amount we received was much less than we had expected. In the last month we made two claims one for Enteritis and one for a Urinary Tract infection. The Enteritis claims was processed right away and we were very pleased with the amount we received. The second claim is being reviewed at this time. When we had VPI if a claim was denied that was it they would not take a second look at it. Embrace is willing to work with the pet parent. Embrace is an excellant company for any pet parent.

Very Quick to Exclude Conditions
I've held policies with other pet insurance companies, andup until today, I was happy with Embrace. I adopted my
dog, Sugar, last August, and I knew that she was almost
blind. My veterinarian was concerned about possible
SARDS, and so, I quickly had Sugar seen by an
opthalmologist at Purdue University. They did NOT
diagnose her with SARDS, but instead with PRA --
Progressive Retinol Atrophy. This is a irreversible
disorder, but except for the blindness, Sugar should have
no other symptoms and/or complications. So, I forgot
about it. PRA is not serious, and Sugar has adapted well
to her blindness.
Then, last month, she had a corneal ulcer, which prompted
Embrace to review her records. They saw that my
veterinarian was concerned about SARDS last year, and
immediately informed me in an email that SARDS was added
as an exclusion to my policy. Of course, I am fighting
them on this, since they didn't even bother checking to
see if Sugar saw a specialist, because if they did, they
would know that she doesn't have SARDS.
Even still, I am angry. This is a demonstration that
Embrace is just following the other pet insurance
companies -- i.e. they are just looking for easy,
convenient ways to exclude conditions. I am confident
that I will win, but I am still very disappointed.
Shame on you Embrace.
