I am 100% satisfied
I have submitted 8 claims within 4 months and each one has been reimbursed promptly (within 2 weeks). I was nervous the first time I sent the claims because I went to 5 doctors and I thought that they would be suspicious and fight the way I went about finding out whether my dog had cancer (he does not). They did not fight my claims and they promptly reimbursed what I was owed. I am very excited about them because my dog keeps having a lot of illnesses and accidents. I do not know what will happen when they wil be under aetna. However, they just increased my premium.

Wouldn't be without it!
I have had pets all my life and never owned pet insurance. We have a 10 year old lab mix. Best dog ever! We are so attached to her like many pet owners. Last month she became so ill we didn't think she was going to make it. We would have done anything to save her. After wonderful care from the emergency room she is back to normal. With the economic downturn and all the costs it was hard enough but with the ASPCA Pet insurance, made things much more bearable. Wouldn't be without it.

I recommend ASPCA pet insurance
I purchased ASPCA pet insurance for my 2 cats when they were 11 years of age for a very reasonable amount per month for both of them. About 3-4 months after recieving the coverage one of my cats got very sick the ASPCA reimbursement was very welcome! They have come through for me and the cats time and again. An added note, all of the people I have talked to at the ASPCA have been so very nice, caring and really helpful! And it is nice to know that some of the money goes to help the ASPCA.

STAY AWAY from ASPCA/Hatrville
My strong recommendation is that you DO NOT purchase ASPCA Pet Insurance (actually operated by Hartville Pet Insurance). They will happlily accept your premiums and then just as happily deny your claims based on "pre-existing condions" using every trick in the book to do so. When they're unable to claim pre-existing conditions, they will minimize the payment based on some ludicrous schedule of payments "in your area" that has no basis in reality. Here are some of my experiences, summarized:
1. Purchased annual policy effective June 2004. This made my annual renewal date June 1st of each year.
2. Paid premiums monthly. Almost all of my claims were nullified by the deductible. When I actually had a service performed by a vet that exceeded the deductible, the insurance adjuster came up with the most ridiculous "reasonable & average" cost for the procedure (which was LESS THAN ONE HALF of what my vet charged (and I checked 4 different vets in my area - all were about the same), and then subtracted my deductable from that. ON A $275 CLAIM, I RECEIVED A CHECK FOR $34.
3. The most outrageous element of their scam occurred when my dog was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2008. The vet scheduled the removal of a malignant tumor for the first week of June. The cost was over $2,400 for the surgery. MY CLAIM WAS DENIED BECAUSE THEY CLAIMED THAT BY JUNE OF 2008 (one week after the policy renewed), THE CANCER WAS A " PRE-EXISTING CONDITION" (i.e. it existed in the prior policy year, which was actually 2 weeks prior).
Only the actual filing of a lawsuit by my attorney got this scam shop to pay my claim (and again, only half the actual cost).
I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU CONSIDER THESE ISSUES BEFORE PURCHASING A POLICY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Outstanding Service from Embrace!!
I'd like to commend Embrace pet Insurance on the wonderful service they provide to those of us who love our pets and consider them family members. We have historically spent tons of money on our pets and decided to insure our latest puppy, Ollie, who is now 3. What a smart decision. He needed TTA surgery and is now recuperating from the ordeal. Since this was a scheduled procedure we had the surgery pre-certified which was a breeze and made the process afterwards flawless. Not only was it financially wonderful, but the compassion and tips from everyone at Embrace made us feel like they were holding our hands throughout the entire process. I can't speak highly enough of the entire Embrace team. Thank you from Ollie and his "parents!"

Health care for animals better than for humans
I am very impressed with PETS BEST insurance. They actually called me to tell me that I might be able to get more of a refund than I had expected because they were now covering certain supplements which is very intelligent because it keeps the animals healthier and lowers vet bills. They have good policies, excepting that they still have riders, but they pay out very well and quickly with no hassles. If there is ever a question, they are open to my vets' feedback and resolve the matter quickly. I find them extremely fair. If only we humans could have such good coverage in the United States. Perhaps the congress needs to look at PETS BEST insurance. I always recommend this company to other pet owners.

Satisfied with this company
I have had several pet insurance companies for my pets. You have to read the fine print especially when it comes to continued care for a disorder that occurred in a previous year. Many companies wont cover. I have had a couple of claims with PetsBest and had a problem with one but my vet cleared it up and PetsBest came thru. My subsequent claims have been paid and very timely. Ive had PetsHealth and VPI and would not recommend these insurance companies. Thus far I dont have any issues with them and their payments have come within 10 days or less. However, I have not had any serious complications to cover so cant attest to how they will measure up if this arose.

Nothing but pleased
I have had Pets Best insurance for over a year now and I have to say i am impressed with their turn around time. I also found their representatives to be imformative. I recently submitted a claim for $6000 for a herniated disc and I was worried the claim process would take a long time. I paid for the bill with my credit card and I was afraid it would be a while before it would be approved because of the charges involved. As most know, credit cards need to be paid within 30 days. Well, I'm very pleased to say that I received my reimbursement in less than two weeks.
I have submitted other claims and the process has always been smooth.

Very Good
I have been with Petsecure for 4 years now. My German Shepherd has always been very sickly. We have made probable close to $5,000 dollars in claims even with 3 major exclusions (skin, digestive and dental occlusion). They are usually very prompt with their payments. I usually receive them 2-3 weeks after I file it. The customer representatives are very helpful. The only negative feedback I have is to do with a clause in the plan that allows them to reduce co-insurance down to 50% if you fall within the top percentile of claims. I have fallen down to 60%. This is not permanent and is reassesed every 6 months. All in all I am very happy with my choice.

They were Great - until they changed underwriters.
I loved Pet's Best. I signed up for it within a day of it becoming available in my state! I recommended it to family, friends, strangers - anyone with a dog that would listen! They paid every claim submitted in a timely manner - and with absolutely no problems.
And now they've changed underwriters - and no longer are keeping one of their promises. They HAD a wonderful program where you could pay an extra $12 a year and have your dogs premiums stay the same until their 8th birthday. When I saw this I thought "WOW - you'd be crazy NOT to do that". I used that as a selling point to have a good friend get the policy even though money was tight at their house.
I read the agreement carefully and looked for any loop holes - but when I read the part of the contract that said
'Discontinuation of Fixed Premium Program: the company may, at any time in its discretion, discontinue offering the Fixed Premium option to new insured. The company, however, will continue to honor and provide the Fixed Premium optional coverage for any existing insured who has purchased the option prior to termination of the program,
subject to the terms and conditions of this policy.'
I figured - GREAT! I'm in the program - I'll just have the yearly fees automatically be deducted - and even if they discontinue the program I'll still be fine - it says right there that they will continue to honor the fixed premium.
Well - my policy auto renewed 2 weeks ago - and when it did I was told that the underwriter changed to Aetna and they were discontinuing the fixed premium program. I thought to myself 'that's fine - my original policy states they'll honor the program even if discontinued'. Well - apparently not. Apparently their policies and honor mean nothing. Since Aetna doesn't want to continue with the program - they will discontinue it for everyone - no matter what the original policy states. And it's not even a tiny raise in price - for me it's an increase of $150 a year for the premium and an additional $25 per visit for the deductible.
Now, unfortunately I can't sing their praises everywhere I go - since I have no way of knowing what they will decide to change next - and can't trust that they will hold true to our original agreement.
