Very good for those big, unexpected events
When my eight year old Vizsla mix was diagnosed with multiple mast cell tumors, we were overwhelmed with worry about our beloved pet, but also worry about the cost of his care. Our plan with ASPCA covers 80% of "reasonable" costs. Since we live in a very expensive metro area,we were certain that 80% of "reasonable" would equate to about 15% of the actual cost. I was so pleased (and quite frankly surprised) to find that in total, about 65-70% of our costs were covered--certainly more than we have paid in premiums over the years. Also, the ability to submit the claim forms online and have them processed within a week or two was great. The customer service reps were very helpful whenever I called.

peace of mind coverage!
Embrace had been such a blessing to our family. We own an english bulldog, should I say more? Our dog was born with a congenital disorder. If we didn't have Embrace we wouldn't of been able to give him a second chance at life. We appreciate the caring staff and there professionalism. We will always use Embrace for all of our future pets. You just never know when you'll need it.

Reliable, Timely Coverage
I have a 9 1/2 year old dog who I recently purchased Pets Best coverage for after the (expensive) and painful loss of her mother in April. Without hesitation, Pets Best covered my dog at this age. I recently took her to her vet for a tumor on her leg. The tumor was mast cell cancer and had to be removed. During surgery, more tumors were found on her spleen and her spleen was also removed. The stress and worry of my dog's cancer was alleviated by Pets Best paying for her surgery so she could receive the care she needed. I was reimbursed very timely and they also paid my balance owed to the vet. I would highly recommend this pet insurance for your dog. This is one of the few companies that covers older dogs at a decent rate.

Selling Practices are a Disgrace
Consumers need to beware of this company's online application process. In January, 2009 I obtained insurance from Pets Best for my Labrador Retriever. I applied online and paid my money. 6 months later, my dog ruptured his ACL, requiring a surgery that cost almost $4,000. My claim was rejected by Pets Best, citing a one year waiting period for cruciate ligament injuries. This was not disclosed during the online application process. It is my opinion that this company dupes consumers by not making them aware of this exception to their policy during the application process. (Especially since this injury is one of the most common canine injuries.) I'm hoping that others will learn from my mistake in trusting this company to be above-board during their application process. My complaints to the company and to the Better Business Bureau have been met with rudeness and contempt. "Buyer beware" is certainly applicable to this company.

Covered Elbow Displasha in 15 mo Golden Retriever
It has been an incredible experience to deal with Embrace over the last few months. Our 15 month old Golden Retriever was diagnosed with bilateral elbow displasha that required surgery. Both our vet and orthopedic specialist were doubtful about the condition be covered through insurance as it is commonly viewed as genetic. We got the treatment pre-certified and after paying our $200 deductible and 10% copay Embrace has covered the rest. In our first year with them they have reimbursed us for close to $4000 in vet bills. They have always been professional and friendly on the phone and the email communication is superb (emails to keep us updated on the claims process and emails after approval to confirm that we received our reimbursement). I recommend Embrace to everyone I know and come across with a dog. If only my medical insurance was this easy and straight forward!

Great Customer Service & Care for my dogs!
What a year we have had. First my then 11 month old Lab (Kaiya) required surgery on her leg. Now just 7 months later my 4 year old Lab (Kiara) required shoulder surgery.
I submitted my pre-cert claim for Kaiya and received a very fast response approving the surgery. What a huge relief that was. Then as the surgery bill and then subsequent therapy bills started to roll in, I began to worry. I heard so many horror stories of other insurance companies threatening to drop someone for overusing their insurance! But no worries with Embrace - with each claim submitted they approved it and not only did they approve but even inquired on how Kaiya was doing and sending their best wishes! You don't get that often. Happily Kaiya has fully recovered and Thanks to Embrace for making it easy.
Then I find out Kiara needs surgery. Again the slight worry that maybe now I would be told I am over-using my policy - but once again Embrace came through with a speedy approval for surgery. While at the vet's I ran into an individual whose dog was having the exact same surgery only his insurance story was not as good as mine. His insurance company wanted to deny payment and he had to go through a long appeal process in which he was still waiting for the final outcome.
There is no way I could have afforded to pay for two surgeries within a year. Embrace afforded me the opportunity to seek and receive treatment for my girls. Kiara is well on her way to recovery thanks to Embrace.
Their customer service is outstanding, they have a quick response time and always take the time to answer my many questions. Their dedication and true concern for the welfare of my 3 labs is incredible. They truly represent the best of the pet insurance industry and I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for pet insurance.
I don't know what I would have done without Embrace!

Only the Best for my dogs =)
I have worked for a vet for almost 10 years, so I never needed insurance for any of my pets. I will be leaving him to relocate this year. So, not knowing where the closest vet would be and where I would be working, we decided to get pet insurance. I called and spoke to 6 different companies. Most of them had extended hours and I was able to call after work. Embrace was the only company that I found hard to get a hold of and almost just excluded it as an option. After looking at the other companies that I had chosen, I narrowed it down to 24PetWatch’s insurance. However, after calling them back, I decided against it as they told me that if my puppy had a ongoing issue, they wouldn’t cover it past that policy period unless it was deemed cured and remained cured for 180 days. I was sitting at home debating with my fiancé with what we should do… nothing seemed to appeal to us. That’s when we decided to give Embrace a call. The customer service was UNREAL!! I called 8 or 9 times within 2 days to ask silly questions, and not once did anyone get aggravated or annoyed with me. In fact, they encouraged me to call with any questions I may have. When I call in now, they know me and immediately want to know if my puppy is ok. As far as I understand, Embrace is a GREAT company, as long as you get the insurance before ANY problems arise. I’ve heard that if something happened before insurance, and something similar happens after the insurance, no coverage. For instance, diarrhea is a common issue of puppies in a new household… due to environment changes, food changes, even intestinal worms. If that puppy has diarrhea 6 months later, he isn’t covered because it’s a “pre-existing”… even though the reason for the diarrhea is completely different. So, if you are looking at insurance for a puppy that has had NO problems, this is a GREAT program! However, if you want to get it for a dog that has had ANY problems, I would recommend you do a Medical History Review with them! They will get the past 2 years history on your pet, and then let you know what they will not cover. The problem with this is that you have to be insured before they do this for you… but you have a 30 day money back guarantee if the plan will not cover what you want it to cover. My puppy has the wellness coverage, and luckily, that’s all I’ve had to use so far (for neutering and microchipping, and a couple vaccines). Since I work for a vet, that $200 takes me pretty far. =)
Pet Insurance is all about preference… what you want it to cover, what is “pre-existing”, how much you are willing to pay, and where you live.

best thing I did for my dog
Petsecure was there for us all the way when my twelve year old border collie-cross was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She had neuro surgery to remove the mass and nine months later remains tumour free. Petsecure reimbursed us nearly $20,000 in vet bills, something we could not have managed on our own. A pet owner's financial situation should never have to be the deciding factor when it comes to providing treatment for your pet. Fortunately for us it didn't have to be thanks to Petsecure.

They wont leave you in the dust!
As an RVT, I see lots of pets go untreated, due to cost (more so in these hard times). With all the better pet insurance companies coming out, we have really embraced the idea of pet insurance and have moved full throttle educating our clients. We recently meet the rep for Trupanion, Robert Segura. He came in to talk to the staff about his company. We decided to try it out, as well as there offer of the first month free for our clients. About a week later we had a client come in with a healthy 8 week old puppy. We gave her, Tiny is her name, her first set of vaccines as well as, strongly, encouraged them to start her pet insurance, they signed up the same day. Less then a week later Tiny came back to us sick with Parvo. Immediately we call Robert, being this is our first claim. Robert was very prompt in helping us get started. Come to find out the client did not sign up correctly, and did not have the first month coverage. Robert went above and beyond for us and Trupanion will cover Tiny even though the client did not sign up correctly. As an insurance company this is a great good faith gesture. Most companies look for any way to "get out" of paying anything. We are very pleased to have found Trupanion and highly recommend it to everyone.
