Very good
The dealings I have had so far with Embrace have been very positive. Customer service reps have been very nice & pleasant to speak with. The claims dept kept me informed of my claim status and so far I am pleased with Embrace insurance.

Worry-Free
If you think of your pet as your child, then Trupanion will be by your side. My Maremma Sheepdog is going to be six years old and has recently gone through ACL surgery. My friends & co-workers thought I was stupid for getting insurance when Kira was six months old. The same people are now feeling stupid for judging me. If Kira lives a happy healthy 15 years, it's priceless to know that I have done everything possible to make her life great! Thanks to Trupanion, I know i've done my job as a responsible pet owner.

Working good so far
Actually bought this policy to combat Murphy, you know, the guy with all the "laws". Have not needed this as much as we thought in the first 5 months, so that is good but we did have a few claims which have simply been applied to our deductible which we haven't met (yet), but I'm waiting for that next injury with my active dog that will cost me $500. At that point, I can give full accolades of coverage. We did do the extra paperwork neceassry to waive the 6 month ortho report, this was simple. However, we had to go back and forth a couple times with the Embrace team and our Vet to clarify some conditions that were at first deemed existing or re-occuring conditions that would not be covered. Once we had this cleared up, things have been smooth. I recommend that you follow up with Embrace and your vet promptly if you see any restrictions put to your policy. Often the evaluation from Embrace is based on literal words on reports and appeared to be taken out of context. Our vet had to clarify illness reports.

First claim ever
We chose trupanion after several research and we had to submit a claim a few months after subscription, for urticaria. At our great surprise, 90% of the cost have been covered by the policy, even the 100$ emergency fee because there was no clinic open during the weekend of the illness.

$200 reimbursement for spay received in a week!
Opted for the wellness plan for our pup, knowing that with vaccines & spaying would easily hit > $200.
Received our check for $200 (max/yr) within 7-10 days of submitting.
Great service!

Fantastic! Customer Service Plus More
Can't believe I am about to wax poetic about an insurance company (aren't they the bad guys?) but here goes-- Reasons to use Embrace:
1. Transparency. Send them your dog's medical records and they will tell you what they won't cover. If you don't like the result they will refund your first month's premium, so you know ahead of time what won't be covered. There are no hidden schedules of "customary charges" that you are not allowed to see. Send them a vet bill and they send you the percentage you paid for with an explanation. And oh yes, you get a real person's name to email or talk to if you have a question.
2. Customer Service on every level. They email you when they have received the fax from your vet or from you with the claim. They email you when they have examined the claim and tell you what amount will be reimbursed with it broken down (in English not insurancese) and when they will send the check (within 15 days so far).
3. They actually send the checks when they say.
4. Above and beyond: Embrace recently emailed me to ask if I had received a check (I had not emailed them).I had not received it so they informed me that they had reissued the check and gave me the date when to expect it. Several days later a hand written note of apology and a $5 Starbucks
gift card arrived as they had apparently been having a problem. The new check arrived promptly thereafter. Who does that?
3..Flexability: choose your pet's plan (and if the rates seem higher than some other plans check whether those plans pay on the actual vet bill or not. You get what you pay for).

Wow- so fast! Wonderful Co!
I did a lot of research on pet insurance companies when I got my first poodle 5 yrs ago after running up thousands of dollars in vet expenses. At the time Embrace did not exist or I could not find them anyway. I went with AKC healthcare- figuring that the AKC would pick the best of what was out there. I have not particularly had severe problems with AKC except it takes forever to get my check. In Nov I added to my pet family with another poodle and before getting her I again researched pet ins. By this time I had heard of and recommended quite a few times Embrace to my auto/home insurance clients after learning they were a new and local pet insurance company. I also could have gotten a good discount with another company thru my employer for their pet insurance but I did not like what I saw with that company. I decided to take my OWN ADVICE -I had been dishing out for years to my customers- try Embrace. I am soooooooo glad I did from the very first phone call Kate was incredible and so helpful. I got my refund check back in record time. My only small snag was somehow my bill/receipt which I had sent in mail with claim form, ortho waiver form and previous treatment info got seperated and lost- they got the rest of forms but not the charges. I got a nice email promptly from claims telling me this was missing and I called vet to fax another one over to Embrace which they did immediately. Voila' claim was processed very quickly- Embrace sent me a copy of endorsement to my policy giving me the microchip discount and approving the ortho waiver of 6 month waiting period for my poodle. My one big regret is that Embrace was not around the first time for my original poodle and I now can not transfer her to Embrace because of her pre-exisiting conditions- although I am still wondering if I should and just pay for the pre- ex conditions out of my pocket. FYI I am still waiting for check from AKC- claim was sent same day for my first poodle- they did send a letter saying they received claim and would address it within 15 days(which it has now been over)so yes I am thrilled with my Embrace experience. Please give them a try you will be glad you did. Pet insurance is sooooooo important!!!! I was so happy to have it on my first poodle when she got ill from the recalled dog food that the Chinese added melamine to. Had Embrace been around when she was a puppy then too they would have covered her 2 knee surgeries too that were congenital likely- NO OTHER Company out there would have done that. Embrace is #1. Thank you to all the "Embracers".
