Thanks for coming through for us!

I've never been in favor of pet insurance and only got it this year because my new pup's breeder felt it was important. She recommended Embrace, and I did like the customization options. I didn't think I'd actually need it, but sure enough, my one-year-old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog had a mountain of stomache troubles. Three days of hospitalization and a myriad of tests later, her bill was over $1000. I almost forgot I could try sending it to Embrace. I'm so glad I did! I had chosen a plan where I'd pay a deductible and then 20% of the remaining balance up to an annual maximimum. Embrace paid their entire 80%, no questions asked. Thank you Embrace, for coming through for us and our dog, and also for being a stand-up organization!

Our Senior Poodle's Best Friend

Alfie is 15+ years old and has had some medical problems over the last few years. Knowing that we would not have to shoulder the entire expense made it much easier for us to decide on medical options for him. Happily everything worked out well thanks to a great Vet and ASPCA Pet Insurance!

Claims people very helpful, but still an Ins. Co

I don't think you can beat trupanions turn around time on claims. The really do pay you back really fast. When there is any problem with a claim they are eager to sort the problems out. To date I have only had one issue with them. My pet had diahrrhea once when he was a pup before I had insurance. My dog is now 7 months old. Recently he has been diagnosed with elbow dysplasia. The Vet prescribed him Rimadyl which has a know side effect of causing diahrrhea and potential death. Trupanion deemed this a pre-existing condition even though my vet specifically wrote them a letter stating his diarrhea was caused from the rimadyl and he had no diahrrea before his treatment. So while they are good at paying expect them to act like any other insurance company and look for ways not to pay. They also wont pay for things such as adequan injections it's deemed a supplement and not covered. My best review will be comming soon. My dog has gone to see a specialist for his elbow dysplasia and the estimated bill is $2.7k-3.3k.

Not worth it if your dog has been to the vet

If your dog any any kind of medical history or if you reported any incidents of vomiting or diarrhea to your vet, then I do not recommend purchasing any plans from Trupanion. You will be sorely disappointed. Even if your dog has never been diagnosed with any kind of illness by your vet such as stomach related illnesses, Trupanion will quote you on those reports recorded by your vet and will deem them as pre-existing symptoms to deny your claims. If your dog has a pre-existing illness and contracts a completely different illness while you're on Trupanion's plan, they will deny your claim and say that it's relayed to the pre-existing condition even when it's not. I am rating them 3 because they're quick to respond to claims. They're also only worth the investment if you purchase it for a dog that has never been to the vet.

FAITH

I'm truly impressed with the service that Embrace provides, they had my claim processed within weeks, provided great service with care and understanding. I had so much faith in Embrace that I added my newly acquired puppy to the insurance plan before my claim was even finished. Its a comforting feeling knowing there's a company like Embrace around..

Embrace is NOT a typical insurance company

There are pet owners and then there are pet lovers. Being pet lovers, we didn't hesitate to pull out all the stops when our 10 month old puppy unbelievably came down with a deadly disease which he had been vaccinated against! After 2 vet hospitals we still had to transfer him to a third - Metropolitan Hospital in Akron where - with God leading the way - his life was saved, and he recovered to enjoy puppy-dom. Although Embrace initially turned down our claim, we asked them to take a second look as this was a freak occurrence, something five veterinarians said was unpredictable and rare. Much to our surprise, Embrace agreed that it was an extreme exception, that every precaution had been taken and yet the worst had still happened. These are real people who are willing to listen and delve into the particulars, definitely not what we expected. We thought it would be the same old insurance run-around with a "No" being the end result. It is really refreshing to finally find a company who is as good as their advertising and reviews. We had spent a lot of time reviewing pet insurance companies and we read the reviews and ratings carefully; this time we found a company which doesn't view all events as a black and white issue, but understands that life can take on hues of gray and that sometimes, man's best vaccines just don't eliminate the seemingly "impossible". Our puppy's survival is a miracle. Embrace took the time to review the impossible and stand behind us. They ar
