no wait claim approvals.
We can't believe how easy and quick it is for claim approvals. Our bulldog has had numerous health issues and the process was seamless in getting reimbursement.I wish my own health plan was as easy.

Expensive Plan but Worth It
I insured my puppy Golden Retriever never expecting to need it. When he was only 3 he developed a cardiac sarcoma that killed him in 1 day. AKC had paid for earlier chest xrays (they showed nothing) & for the $3000 final bill, excluding cremation. I have no complaints about this plan & would get it again but it looks like they've raised their rates considerably in 2 months.

Excellent pet insurance
When we got our pug Augie last year, we decided to buy health insurance for him, as we'd had a dog before and the veterinary costs were often quite expensive. After doing our research, we settled on Embrace, and we're thrilled that we did. Embrace has been helpful and efficient from day one; they're quick to respond to inquiries, and quick to send reimbursements for covered visits. They also seem to understand the important relationship humans can have with their pets. Kudos to you, Embrace!

It's still an insurance company. Still sheisty.
I reviewed my options and chose Embrace based on other people's recommendation. No surprise, on my first claim Embrace found reasons not to cover my puppy. I signed up for coverage on 2/1/10. I was told that after a 14 day waiting period, my puppy that we had adopted from a rescue would be covered as of 2/15/10. On 2/22/10, I took my puppy to the vet for his final set of booster shots and had the vets fill out a claim form. Upon filing my claim, I was told that since he didn't see a vet during his 14 day waiting period, that he wouldn't be covered until March. NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THE DOG HAD TO SEE A VET DURING THE WAITING PERIOD IN ORDER FOR COVERAGE TO TAKE PLACE. EVER. Still, even though he was apparently NOT covered during that month, Embrace still charged me for February's premium, even though he was NOT covered and refuse to reimburse me for this month of non-coverage. Like every other insurance company I've ever dealt with, if they can find an excuse NOT to pay, they won't. Maybe this would be a good thing to have in terms catastrophic situations - dog gets hit by a car, ingests poisonous material, etc., but for one's average pet costs - shots, check-ups, etc., I don't think this insurance helps at all. I'm giving them a "2" rather than a "1" because their online response time was quite fast... but only to tell me that I wasn't covered and they couldn't help me or refund my money. One would think they would be empathetic to rescue dogs who may not have detailed history of care, but one would be wrong.
I can't help but feel mislead and cheated by Embrace pet insurance and their not being forthcoming on stipulations required for my puppy to have coverage, and then refusing to reimburse me for the month's premium they charged when my puppy was not covered.

Saves me big bucks
I haven't even had my policy a year, and my little girl Beatrice has already been to the vet 3 times with stomach related issues. The last visit the bill was over $1,400! Having this insurance has saved me a lot of money and gives me the piece of mind that if she gets sick, she will be taken care of. I also love the fact that ASPCA insurance donates a portion to promote animal welfare. It makes me feel good to be a part of that.

Very fast processing and pay-out
I'd had insurance on my Boerboel, Durga, for about five months when the thought occurred to me that I ought to be filing claims for all these puppy inoculations and wellness products such as flea/tick/heartworm meds. Once I did get my claim together, it took less than a week for processing to occur and, maybe, a week later, my check arrived. Great service, caring people. Not your average insurance experience in a country where problems with our (people) insurance industry are a serious issue!

good for an emergency
I find this plan adequate, though it always discounts my vet's fee and then only pays a portion of the fee. But, in an emergency, it is good to have medical coverage for my two dogs.

great service, nice people
Less than a month ago, my dog had to have six teeth extracted -- and I've already received a check from Embrace! Everything went smoothly, I was contacted quickly when more information was needed, and everyone I dealt with was super-nice and helpful. It's the first time I've made a claim and I'm really pleased -- thanks!

Been good so far, needs a few changes
I have Pets Best for 2 years and have mostly been satisfied with the coverage. I have 3 pets insured with Pets Best. On two occasions I have had to be persistent to receive coverage, but after clarifying the issues and supplying further information from my veterinarian they did pay the claims. They no longer offer the option to lock in your pets age until age 7, which they had previously offered. Upon renewal of my policy that option was no longer available. Aetna now underwrites Pets Best and since that change I have been unable to determine the extent of my benefits. When I contacted Pets Best by phone to find out if a surgery for my dog was a part of my covered benefits I was unable to receive an answer. Their response was that I would need to submit a completed claim for review to determine coverage. Although I realize that they cannot guarantee coverage in advance, I would like to know what my benefits are. According the representative that I spoke with, that info is not available until after the fact. Seems that some of the guidelines have become fuzzy since the change to Aetna and I would like to see more straightforward disclosure of information on my policy. There also seems to be some question regarding grandfathering my coverage after the change to Aetna, which affects coverage on some conditions. All in all, Pets Best has been a much better company than some of the others I tried in the past. Friendly customer service, but at the moment I have unanswered questions.
