Really disappointed in broad claim denials
Embrace has completely denied claims for totally unrelated allergies that my dog has had, because they treat ALL allergies as being the same. Even when my vet called them to explain that the past allergies and the new one were completely unrelated (sort of like the difference between having hay fever versus being allergic to onions), Embrace still said no. Then when my dog had a yeast infection in her ear, they denied the claim saying that "Allergies increase the risk of secondary skin and ear infections and is the reason we cannot provide coverage for the claim". Wow!! Buyer beware!!! It appears that Embrace will do whatever they can to deny claims. I was really hopeful, but now I am most disappointed.

Adventures happen!
My dog Eva is the world to me. I adopted her from the Humane Society in Maui when she was 5 months old and she has been my faithful traveling companion in these last 5 years as I wander through life and across the country. I have grown up always having a dog (or more) in my life, but she is my first personal companion. I love being outdoors, exploring, and traveling, and she goes everywhere and does everything possible with me! I had a feeling when we began our adventures that allowing her this freedom to explore might introduce some chances of injury or sickness. Therefore finding and signing up for the ASPCA health insurance was the best thing I have ever done!
Multiple times now we have needed the services of the ASPCA pet insurance to help cover the costs of our vet visits. Fortunately she is naturally healthy, but as I had anticipated, her high energy and accidental encounters have incited a few costly trips to the vet. Our coverage has provided reimbursement averaging 50% of the costs, which I have told my family and friends that I am very grateful for!
I highly recommend pet owners, especially those who have active and adventurous furry companions, to get pet insurance. I look forward to many more adventures with Eva and it gives me comfort to know that I have support from the ASPCA Pet Insurance to keep her healthy and happy for the rest of her blessed life!

Embrace, I could just hug you!
As an insurance-free pet owner for many years, I worried that purchasing policies for my Cavalier puppy and 7-year-old cat would turn out to be a waste of money. I couldn't have been more wrong: They have paid for themselves many times over due to a few emergencies I certainly hope will not be repeated. When you're in the already horrible, scary position of having to treat a sick pet, it is such an enormous comfort and relief to know that price does not have to be a primary factor. (Because let's face it: Most of us will do whatever is necessary to save and care for our animals, regardless of cost.) Best of all, every single interaction with Embrace has been an absolute pleasure: The staff is courteous, professional and kind. I couldn't be more pleased with the overall experience. I hope I won't need to use it again, but I'm so glad that it's there.

Pets Best is Great
Pets Best has always responding quickly on all of my claims. Most recently, my 10 yo dog had a strange lump in her mouth. It turned out to be a rare benign growth. PBI covered 80% of the claim without problem.

Fast and great communications
Everything can be sent via fax or e-mail - so convenient, compared to regular mail. We submitted wellness and illness on the same receipt - Embrace sorted it out for us, with just a request for the illness claim form. We then had many receipts, because our girl dog had emergency surgery for a perforated intestine, peritonitis and sepsis, and lymphoma. We could barely keep the receipts straight (let alone worry about insurance claims when our dog was so ill). Embrace sent e-mails to notify that they received the claim. Then they sent e-mails to update that the claims were being processed. Then they sent the reimbursement e-mail, with detailed explanation of payment, and a running total. This was far easier than human medical insurance claims. The direct deposit option is outstanding - complete turnaround for claim review and deposit was under two weeks, so we could pay the credit card in the same billing cycle. We are so grateful for the exceptional service, and caring human beings. My vet had the Embrace flyer, which is how I learned about you.

Really Came Through When We Needed It
I got Pet's Best for my mom's dog Daisy. She'd always been a healthy dog but she's 13 now and it was hard to find a company that would cover older dogs affordably. Daisy has a condition that's so far undiagnosed--she's been throwing up, losing weight, not eating. The first round of tests alone have been $1300. My mom submitted the bills and we were sort of shocked to receive a check within 2 weeks for $988. No hassle! No games! My insurance for my own (young!) dog has paid much less on our claims. Pet's Rest has been terrific so far.

In today's world I cant afford not to be insured.
I am so glad I decided to purchase pet insurance for my dog Uli. I purchased the insurance over two years ago when she was just a puppy and hadn’t had much use for it. As the economy got tighter I thought about canceling the insurance to save money. I thought there wouldn’t be a need for it because she seemed so healthy so I had planned to cancel the insurance when it was up for renewal in April. I had just made the decision when Uli had an anaphylactic reaction to a new pet food and had to be rushed to the vet. She was severely ill and spent two days in the animal emergency room. I knew a significant portion of it would be covered by the insurance so I didn’t have the added worry of the vet bill. Had this even occurred two months later, Uli’s insurance would have been canceled and I would have had to pay the entire bill. I made the decision that night to continue the insurance, with today’s economy I can’t afford not to have pet insurance. I now know firsthand that pet insurance is a must have in this day and age. Not only does it save you money but it allows you to focus on the important things in life like the health and well being of your pet instead of worrying about the vet bill or feeling guilty because you can’t afford a treatment.

Healthy Paws - Great Coverage
Our family had a dog with cancer a number of years ago and his treatment cost hit us hard financially. We promised ourselves to cover our next pets with insurance because we knew we would not follow any kind of "savings plan" for their medical expenses. After much research, Healthy Paws came out on top with the best coverage for the cost. Our dogs are now enrolled with Healthy Paws and we don't have to worry about the cost when one of them gets sick. Another plus to Healthy Paws is that they help out rescue/adoption groups through a Foundation they fund. Pretty cool!

Meh.
I'm not smashed with their claims review process. This company seems to be looking for any excuse to get you to pay another $250 per-incident deductible, even when treatment for an illness is shown by a vet's letter to be ongoing. They also will not cover laser treatment for my cat's skin lesions, even though we have photographic proof the treatment has cleared up the lesions. They say it's "alternative" therapy. However, acupuncture isn't. Huh?? Laser therapy is state-of-the-art Western medicine, is it not? It's very cost-effective. Yet they won't cover it. I'm looking for a new company, and will only spend the one year with this one.

An insurance company helping a cause
Like most,I struggled with the decision to get pet insurance, then had a hard time trying to decide which company to go with. Healthy Paws is a new company, but after researching who they are and talking to them, they are devoted to saving homeless pets, and have a team with business experience/knowledge to accomplish this mission. We run a small rescue out of our home and appreciate how an unexpected vet bill could hurt us financially - a financial set back would keep us from saving hard to place dogs. Healthy Paws has been true to their word from the moment of enrolling, filing a claim and reimbursement. It's awesome to know that Healthy Paws puts our money back into fighting for the cause we are devoted to.
