OUTSTANDING!

We obtained Embrace pet insurance in 6/07 and are so, so grateful we did! They have paid promptly on his allergy problems and much more than we expected. But the amazing experience was when our 110# 'puppy' tore his ACL and had to have surgery. Our bill was $2950 and we were reimbursed $2600! Not only that, but they cover acupuncture and alternative health treatments. Between Embrace Pet Insurance and a progressive vet, Kodo is doing fantastic!!!! I tell everyone they not only NEED pet insurance, they need Embrace.

Huge Premium increases

I have been with Pets Best for over 2 years now and have been pretty happy with them until recently. Why? Well, I just received my renewal policy from Pets Best and was shocked to see a HUGE increase in premium for the coming year. I have two cats under Pets Best, and only made one claim ($500 for an ultrasound to check a heart murmur) in the past year. Now I am seeing an premium increase of 37% in the renewal policy (annual premium in the mid-$500 raised to over $800), in addition to an increase of my deductible from $75 to $100 (Pets Best no longer offers the $75 option). I am planning on moving my younger cat to PetPlan after this current policy expires. My older cat who got the ultrasound will stay with Pets Best because no one else will insure this pre-existing condition. Pets Best recently change their underwriter to Aetna. It is sad to see that profits are more important than their customers since this change. I suggest other pet lovers go look at a different insurance company.

excellent coverage

On April 14 2010 my 10 year old daughter and her friend were walking our 9 1/2 month old papillon/pomeranian when our dog was attacked by 2 rotweillers. Our little dog had its intestines hanging out, she was bleeding and whimpering in pain. At the vet it was discovered that 6 of her ribs were fractured, her diaphram was torn, and her lungs and pancreas were punctured. She needed emergency surgery to repair her chest and abdominal injuries. The following day she needed another operation on her abdomen. Following this she needed IV antibitics to prevent infection, pain medication and was hospitalized for many days. She had a setback when she started vommitting. We didn't know if she would make it due to her extensive injuries. My daughter was traumatized by the attack and was so scared her dog was going to die. However, she pulled through and survived. Her vet bills totalled $10,573.17. Thank goodness I had pet insurance. My claim was approved within a few weeks and I have been reinbursed at 90% minus the exclusion for vet exams and rechecks. I would highly recommend Trupanion.

Prompt Service, going the extra mile

Embrace is my first experience with pet insurance. We had a minor claim, it was our first so Embrace needed complete medical records in order to process the claim. I failed to provide all the information needed, they contacted my vet and got the rest to complete the claim. KILLER SERVICE, above and beyond what I would expect. I recommend them wholeheartidly.

Worth It

I would advise the pet owner to study and ask about the different types of plans offered: for example: continued maintaince plan.Otherwise, my dog (now 11 years old)who started out healthy, developed Cushings and now heart disease; has had numerous vet and ER visits which the insurance "took the sting" out of enormous bills. We would have taken care of her no matter what but knowing some of the costs are covered gave us some needed relief. I will definitely invest in insurance for all of my future pets. Again, I would suggest to become familiar and ask questions about each of the plans and coverage inclusions and exclusions.

A great choice

After spending over $3000.00 in medical bills in the first six months after rescuing our female Airedale puppy, we decided to look into pet insurance. Libby had an expensive knack for irritating older dogs and swallowing large rocks. I talked to other dog owners, pet supply retailers and veterinarians, but no one could recommend a reliable insurance company. I read through all the information on websites, compared plans and decided Trupanion was the best fit and the best price for our needs. Two months after enrolling Libby she had an appointment for a shot. We mentioned to her veterinarian that she sometimes limped after long walks. One x-ray and two more veterinarian consultations later, we were told that Libby needed bilateral hip replacements. When I told the surgeon that we had hip dysplasia coverage on Libby, he was skeptical, saying pet insurance companies always find a way to not pay claims. Trupanion processed the claim quickly and paid 90% of the claim after the $500.00 deductible. Everyone at Trupanion was friendly and helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any pet owner.

Thank Trupanion

My 10mo old Amstaff was very ill & we didn't know what was wrong with her. After 6 visits to her regular vet we had to go see a specialist who told us she has meningitis. She had to have an MRI, xrays and several test done to come to this conlusion. From the begging of her sickness I would fax in a claim form and they would send out a check within a week. So when she had to see a specialist it was a very large bill and we wanted to be sure we were going to be our covered. I called trupanion they were very helpful they faxed over a pre approval form to the Vet hospital and they called me back the next day to say it was approved. I was so happy. She is on medicine now doing better. I wouldn't have been able to go this far and help my puppy without trupanion
