rip off
We have carried ASPCA insurance (level 4 top level)for almost 3 years. This is supposed to pay for preventative care including vaccines, flea/heartworm meds, and dental. It is a nightmare trying to recover costs from them! They are vague and unwilling to share how they arrive at their figures. I am cancelling and do not recommend this company to anyone.

Very prompt in all aspects
I work with dental insurance every day, so I truly appreciate timeliness. Embrace always is prompt - whether it is in their claim processing or responding to a question I have. I've had animals for the past 11 years, and I've had 3 other insurance plans - Embrace is the one I recommend to anyone I talk with about pet insurance.

They're always there
Sometimes I think the dogs that really need us find us, because when a new furry member of our family joins us, we immediately insure them with Embrace and undoubtedly something will happen that would not have been possible to treat without insurance. But Embrace never blinks an eye and not only pay in a timely manner, but asks how my dogs are doing in a way that tells me they genuinely care. They've been there to pay us over $10,000 to help fight a battle we ultimately lost with one of our Dane, to get us through an emergency splenectomy with another and they regularly reimburse me for the acupuncture treatments for my old Dane girl with arthritis. I would never have a dog without being insured by Embrace.

Ease at Processing Claim
It was very easy to process the recent claim that I submitted. The payment was within a few days of my dogs procedure. There was no surprises and it was a pleasure to deal with Embrace. I would highly recommend Embrace for your pets health insurance.

Served it's purpose
I like this insurance because it helped us to make quick decisions when our dogs were sick without having to worry about the amount of money we were spending. My dog BamBam was given just 2 weeks to live due to his kidney problems unless we were able to be extremely aggressive with fluid treatments, etc. We were able to say "yes" right away knowing that the insurance would cover the first $1500 for this incident. It has been 15 months now and BamBam is still doing fantastic. The insurance does only cover the first $1500 of each incident and if the pet is not considered to be "cured" within 6 months, the insurance will never again cover this incident. If BamBam has a kidney problem in the future, we basically are on our own. We don't like this part of it, because this is not how REAL insurance works. But, when the incident first occured it allowed us to say YES to treatment without giving it a second though. I will likely get this insurance on my future pets as well.

Above and Beyond Expectations - And I'm a picky!
After considerable research of various insurance companies (I'm obsessive about researching big purchases), I selected Embrace. I was not disappointed.
During sign up, as is typical of sales depts. pretty much everywhere, I received excellent customer service. When I had to ask clarification questions regarding how to best sign up my new puppy, the agent was patient, knowledgeable and pleasant. So far so good...
It was the phenomenal customer service that came later that really blew me away. I had problems getting my claim forms in, and the gentleman I spoke to was kind helping me sort that out. He also advised me about getting the puppy check-up form completed to decrease the waiting period before my new fuzzy friend was covered. And here is the cool part...
I left papers to be signed at my vet, and in spite of the very nice reminder calls from Embrace about faxing them in, hadn't yet gotten around to going back to pick them up. Here is the amazing part...EMBRACE CONTACTED MY VET DIRECTLY AND HAD THE VET SUBMIT THE FORM FOR ME! :) :) Essentially, being like, "Lets finish this file and make sure this client get's her refund in a timely manner... even if she is a slacker when it comes to paperwork." Wow.
They could have easily sat around letting my file get dusty waiting for me to complete my end of the paperwork, but they went above and beyond to make sure I was getting my check in a timely fashion. Thanks Embrace! You are efficient even when I'm not. :)

Wonderful people to work with!
I have been with VPI for a long time and have become increasingly dissatisfied with them. While my premiums have increased the amount I am reimbursed has decreased. When we got our newf 2 yrs. ago I researched many companies and was very impressed with Embrace. Many options are available and the benefit statements are so easy to read (unlike VPI). And the people I have dealt with have been wonderful-they really care about our pets. Unfortunately our other dogs have some pre-existing conditons-otherwise I would have switched them to Embrace in a heartbeat. All our future dogs will be insured with this company.

Love it!!!
I recently adopted an 8 wk old puppy and now at 15 wks she is healthty and happy. I had a Shepherd Collie mix before and used VIP insurance. I think insurance is a necessary and responsible part of pet ownership. The problem I had with VIP was their fee schedule. What they considered usual and customary fees were archaic. I have not seen some of their fee expectations in years. I love that embrace take a more resonable approch by setting their their fees regionally. I also got the wellness plan and love that I can choose from the services covered what I want to use this plan for.

My Story
When I decided to get health insurance for my 4 cats they were all healthy. No problems, we went for regular check ups and had the regular maintenance health care done, such as dental cleanings, etc. everything was fine. I decided to have health insurance for them considering they were getting up in age - if they fell or had any injury or minor illness then at least I could feel like I had extra help to pay for it. You wouldn't believe how much one little injury could cost.
The health insurance has helped out tremendously. Within two years all my cats had at least one thing happen to them or some minor illness came upon them. One cat had a few problems within two years. If I didn't have the insurance the cost for 4 cats with health issues would've ran me thousands and it did! The pet health insurance covered a great portion of it and my budget for cat care did not take a large hit within those two years.
It is just a comfort to know there is help. It is insane not to have health insurance for yourself it is equally insane not to have it for your animals since it can help you cover your cost. Not to mention, give you the peace of mind that you can offer the best possible care for your animal.
Don't know why I didn't get it sooner. Everyone is healthy and/or recovering now, thankfully!
